Greetings From the Middle of Nowhere in Rural America!

Re-occupation yesterday

It’s Sunday, so let’s dive right in.

They’re at it again.

Our tax dollars at work oppressing the people and trampling the Constitution.

So, what are our tax dollars doing now? We’re paying for another attack on the Oakland camp.

Just think….

If we just surrender our freedom and give in to the bankers, we could all see our tax dollars going to foreign wars and watch our children dying on Fox “news!”

Peaceful camp last night

Heck, we could even afford to send more tear gas canisters to the Egyptian army.

It’s sad that about the only things “Made in America” any more are armaments and Big Macs.

Death, any way you slice it.

From KCBS News:

Oakland officials confirm that Occupy Oakland camp at 19th & Telegraph is being broken up by police right now. Follow 740AM & 106.9FM.

Speaking of tear gas and death……..

From Fox “News” (The Volischer Beobachter) and Al Jazeera

Egyptian army, police launch major assault to evict protesters from Cairo’s Tahrir Square

It can't happen here, right? RIGHT?

“Months after the 18-day uprising that toppled embattled Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak, police clash with protesters in Tahrir Square as demonstrators demand the ruling military announce a date to hand over power to an elected government.”

Calico Blackie says:

Because standing up for yourself and others is WRONG, citizen

Notice there hasn’t been a word from DC yet about the latest protests in Egypt and the “rights” of the demonstrators like the denunciations in January?

Back to America:

Protesters Arrested After Occupying Vacant Building in Washington, D.C.

District of Columbia police on Saturday evening arrested 11 protesters and planned to charge them with unlawful entry after officers entered and cleared an abandoned city-owned building that had been occupied by a group inspired by Occupy D.C.”

Here’s a follow-up on the news from UC Davis:

Officer Pike

The cop with the pepper spray at UC Davis in yesterday’s video is Lt. John Pike of University of California Police.

Calico Blackie says:

* REMEMBER: YOUR TAX DOLLARS BOUGHT HIS PEPPER SPRAY

And, in the news….

UC Davis launching investigation into officers pepper-spraying protesters

The chancellor of the University of California, Davis said Saturday that the school was launching an investigation after “chilling” video images surfaced online showing an officer using pepper spray on several protesters as they sit passively with their arms interlocked.

WE bought that pepper spray for the prick to use

“The use of the pepper spray as shown on the video is chilling to us all and raises many questions about how best to handle situations like this,” Chancellor Linda Katehi said in a message posted on the school’s web site.

“Katehi said she is forming a task force comprised of faculty, students and staff to review the events surrounding the Friday protest and the police response.”

Calico Blackie says:

Review the events? They have the whole thing on video!

Typical bureaucratic doublespeak for “we’re going to wait and hope it goes away and then give the sadist a week off with pay.”

After review, he should be fired and prosecuted.  Would you want this sadist around your kids?

The report goes on to state:

“A law enforcement official who watched the clip called the use of force “fairly standard police procedure.”

Calico Blackie says:

Since when does sadistic behavior and police brutality constitute “fairly standard police procedure.” Oh yeah, that’s right. When it suits the needs of the State and not it’s citizens.

Would you buy a used car from these clowns?

Also in the news:

From Reuters:

Deficit panel stalled as deadline looms

“Members still far apart on how to attain goal of finding $1.2 trillion in budget savings”

Both sides of Congress’ deadlocked “super committee” held separate talks on Saturday, but formal negotiations remained stalled, reaffirming gloomy predictions that the deficit-fighting panel may fail.

With a midnight Wednesday deadline fast approaching, the panel’s six Republican and six Democratic members were still far apart on how to attain a goal of finding at least $1.2 trillion in budget savings over the next 10 years.

Meanwhile:

BUY NOTHING DAY IS APPROACHING

Calico Blackie says:

What in the hell are they doing?

What are we paying these clowns for with our tax dollars?

They should forfeit their paychecks for not coming up with a deal.

Imagine going up to your boss and saying: “Sorry, couldn’t get it done?”

If you must go shopping, shop “mom and pop” stores.

DeBeers. Now there’s a company that cares about human beings!

So, what was the lead story on CBS News this morning?

Here ya go!

“Natalie Wood’s fatal voyage”

Calico Blackie says:

Tired of this type of “news?”

So am I. So is rural America.

GIVE US REAL NEWS, NOT PROPAGANDA!

This should be in either the Entertainment section, or Crime section of the news.

NOT THE LEAD STORY!

On that note……

Sometimes the news seems to be a morass!

Don’t forget to pay your taxes! Our police have been using a lot of pepper spray lately and that stuff ain’t free.

Hey…

Come to think of it…

NEITHER ARE WE.

“The Sun still shines.”
