Greetings from Rural America!
Well, it seems as if the Canadian government is moving to end the “occupy” protests in their country.
I guess they would prefer to let it simmer in the background until it boils over and they have a real problem.
Here’s the news from our neighbors to the north:
Occupy Toronto tents to be removed 1st, people 2nd: City won’t allow protesters to reassemble at another park.
A handful of protesters have chained themselves inside fortified tents in defiance of police moves Wednesday to take down the Occupy Toronto camp in St. James Park.
Also in Canada:
Occupy Quebec City site dismantled without incident.
Police, city workers remove tents. Activists told to leave.
Police and city workers in Quebec City completely dismantled the Occupy Quebec site Tuesday morning after weeks of issuing warnings citing safety concerns.

News from England:
Occupy London protesters camp could be cleared before Christmas, High Court hears
Back in the USA:
Police are clearing Occupy Santa Rosa encampments from a City Hall lawn this morning. Police say the action began just after 4 a.m.
As public safety and sanitation concerns with the Occupy Santa Rosa encampment persist, several council members said they are no longer interested in debating terms of a camping permit for the group, and instead want the tents removed from the City Hall lawn.

Meanwhile, in the Nations Capitol:
DC cop says no plan to shut occupy dc down in near future. “This is a federal park & they are protesting the federal govt.”
And, WHAT’S THIS? REAL NEWS FROM FOX?
Medvedev: Russia May Target Missile Defense Sites
Russia will deploy new missiles aimed at U.S. missile defense sites in Europe if Washington goes ahead with the planned shield despite Russia’s concerns, President Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday.
Russia will station missiles in its westernmost Kaliningrad region and other areas if Russia and NATO fail to reach a deal on the U.S.-led missile defense plans, he said in a tough statement that seemed to be aimed at rallying domestic support.
The U.S. plan calls for placing land- and sea-based radars and interceptors in European locations over the next decade and upgrading them over time.
In other “news”:
Natalie Wood could have been saved, rescuer says
(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES — The lifeguard captain who helped pull Natalie Wood’s body from the water nearly 30 years ago says he believes the actress could have been saved had a search begun earlier for her.
Calico Blackie says:
All I can think of to say about this is, if you found yourself out to sea with Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken, wouldn’t you be a bit concerned?
Meanwhile:
Cairo clashes continue; Rights group says 38 dead
(CBS/AP) CAIRO – Egyptian police clashed with anti-government protesters for a fifth day in central Cairo Wednesday as a rights group raised the overall death toll from the ongoing unrest to at least 38. The United Nations strongly condemned what it called the use of excessive force by security forces.
“No one in the square really considers anything that the military suggested yesterday as a concession. We have a very clear demand, which is that the military steps down … immediately,” Khalid Abdalla, an activist and actor, told “The Early Show” Wednesday.
“It is unacceptable that the military tries to be above the law, above its citizens, above the constitution, that it tortures, that kills. We do not recognize their authority anymore, and we’re asking them to leave immediately.
The standoff has plunged the country deeper into crisis less than a week before parliamentary elections, the first since the ouster nine months ago of longtime authoritarian leader Hosni Mubarak.
I read this comment yesterday regarding the “occupy” protests going on in the United States:
“Right to assembly is one thing, blocking walkways, sidewalks, and driveways are quite another.”
Calico Blackie Says:
Where then would you suggest people exercise their right to assembly other than public places?
The only place I can think of in a city where a large number of people could exercise their Constitutional right to assembly where they wouldn’t be blocking walkways, sidewalks and driveways would be a park. And we saw what happened to people who did that in Zuccotti Park and in other parks throughout the country.
Here’s another thought about our media here in the US:
After watching O’Reilly and Kelly on the news yesterday defending the UCPD for their assault on peaceful protesters, why do I get the feeling FOX would have defended the Kent State killings if it had been on the air back then?
Calico Blackie says: I can hear it now……
Megan Kelly: “Gee Bill, they only killed four of them, so it’s not too bad!”
O’Reilly: “Yeah, Megyn. If those protestors had just moved on when ordered to do so, they wouldn’t have gotten shot! They should have respected authority.”
So…..What’s the main problem with our media here?
The problem is that the mainstream media in this country have multiple political pundit shows that spin and spin the truth.
They flood their viewer’s minds with misinformation, lies and non-issues to the breaking point where there is no room for real news.
Anytime you have to fill 24 hours there is going to be garbage being presented.
It’s our job to sift through the trash.
On that note…..

Also:
The cop with the pepper spray at UC Davis is Lt. John Pike of University of California Police. 530-752-3989
He should be fired and prosecuted for assault. Make an example of him to show our police around the country what can happen to them if they use brutality on citizens.
