Greetings from Calico Blackie!
Ah, the simple life!
It’s getting cold at night here on the Klamath River. The leaves are falling and the frost is on its way.
Soon, it will snow.
Time to go out and find some “dead and down” for the woodstove.
Time to dig out all the winter hobby stuff that has been put away since last summer.
We’re fortunate here in a way, in that being “rural poor” forces you to learn 19th Century technologies and to “make do” with whatever you have to work with. You drive A LOT less and learn to enjoy staying close to home with your loved ones and your simple diversions.

Here’s a hawk that tried to get one of my chickens and ended up tangled in the blackberries instead. We got the hawk out unhurt. That was our biggest problem of the day.
As a matter of fact, I’m seriously considering looking into making my own ethanol and converting my car and chainsaw over to run on whatever fuel I can make myself.
Hopefully, I don’t blow myself up!
Why the heck not? We drive so infrequently here that a couple of gallons would last us over a week.
Would life be easier if we were “urban rich”? Probably. It would be simpler to just go out and buy whatever you need or want than to make it yourself, or to order what you can’t make online, but we like living out here.
What wouldn’t be simpler would be to be crowded into a city with other members of the rat race with all the traffic, noise, pollution, and other worries that come when you cram large groups of people together in a small space.
The population density where I live amounts to 1.5 people per square mile, and I like it that way.
Instead of worrying about city life, I have time to think and to watch what’s happening in our world today.
The downside to living out here is that if you have a medical emergency, and you can’t get to the clinic, you’re pretty much screwed.
You patch yourself up and you either live or you die. Either that, or it’s Life Flight by helicopter to Medford.
Anyway, speaking of living or dying………
Here’s the news:
In foreign policy speech, Romney will encourage military spending, Syria intervention
“In a major foreign policy speech Monday Mitt Romney will attempt to stake out a more activist public position than President Barack Obama on supporting the rebels in Syria’s civil war.”
“Romney plans to say that he believes in working with partner nations to arm rebels fighting the government of Syrian President Bashir al-Assad.”
“He would equip the rebels – “who share our values” — with heavy weapons to take out “tanks, helicopters and fighter jets,” according to the remarks.”
“The Obama administration has refrained from doing so out of concern that the weapons would end up in terrorist hands.”
“In prepared remarks released Sunday to reporters, Romney laid out global issues where his campaign hopes to draw “great contrast” with Obama – notably on Libya, Syria and Egypt.”
Calico Blackie says:
Why do our leaders keep wanting to poke our noses into every other country’s business?
Oh yeah, PROFITS FOR THEIR CRONIES. We’re talking taxpayer money here.
Do you have any idea how much “arming the Syrian rebels” will cost?
I’ve seen quotes for M-16 rifles for the military which run anywhere from $1000.00 to $2,000 EACH.
Now, multiply that number by 5,000, AND THAT DOESN’T EVEN COUNT THE COST OF THE OTHER WEAPON SYSTEMS ROMNEY IS PROPOSING TO SEND TO SYRIA.
Imagine that money being spent instead to help homeless people here in the United States?
But, oh no. Kill Big Bird and de-fund PBS. M-16s for Syrian Rebels are much more important!
We’re so screwed.
Meanwhile, out West…..
Obama Swings West for Campaign Cash

I wonder how many of them stepped over this guy in their rush to give Obama their money? And Romney wants us to arm the Syrians? FUCK THEM BOTH
“President Obama is tapping his California ATM with a combination of star-studded concerts and intimate high-dollar dinners.”
“He’s expected to raise nearly $9.5 million dollars for the Obama Victory Fund over two days.”
“The West Coast swing kicked off with a star-studded concert at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, featuring performances by Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, and Earth Wind & Fire.”
“The president did not attend the concert but made remarks to nearly 6,000 supporters, with tickets starting at $250.”
“My understanding is it was an incredible show. These guys – and everybody here are just incredible professionals. They’re such great friends, and they just perform flawlessly night after night. I can’t always say the same,” he said, presumably poking fun of his own performance at last week’s debate.
Obama continued to criticize his opponent, Mitt Romney for his $5 trillion in tax cuts and plan to reduce spending.
“Obviously, the Governor knows his $5 trillion isn’t too popular, so a few weeks before this election he’s trying to pretend it doesn’t exist, because that’s a lot easier than trying to explain how he’d pay for it without asking middle-class families to pick up the tab,” the president said.”
“When he was asked what he’d actually do to cut spending, he said he’d go after public television.”
“For all you Mom’s and kids out there, someone is finally cracking down on Big Bird. Elmo has made a run for border.”
“Romney plans to let Wall Street run wild, but bringing hammer down on Sesame Street.”

Calico Blackie says:
Screw them both. They don’t give a damn about you. Never have. Never will.
They won’t care unless WE force them to care and to listen.
But, HEY……
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?…….
Christina Hendricks of ‘Mad Men’ offended over ‘full-figured’ question
“Christina Hendricks took offense to a reporter asking how she felt about being an inspiration as a “full-figured woman.”
“The 37-year-old actress was doing an interview with Sydney’s Sun-Herald fashion editor Kate Waterhouse, who asked, “You have been an inspiration as a full-figured woman. What is the most inspiring story that you can remember where you’ve inspired someone?”
“A flustered Hendricks said, “Um, I don’t know… I’m sorry” and turned to her publicist, who asked Waterhouse to rephrase the question.”
“Waterhouse began, “You’ve been known as an inspiration for women as being a full-figure…” when Hendricks interrupted and said, “I mean, you just said it again.”
“Hendricks said backstage, “I think calling me full-figured is just rude.”
Calico Blackie says:
HAR HAR HAR! WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT CHRISTINA HENDRICKS THINKS?
Her tits alone are the size of a 3rd world country and she’s offended by someone calling her “full figured”?
Besides, what’s full figured?
Guys, I don’t know about you, but as far as I’m concerned….
If a woman isn’t grossly and morbidly obese or on the other hand, Auschwitz thin, they look good to me!
Oh, then there’s this…..
Mila Kunis named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine
“Mila Kunis was named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire magazine, taking over from last year’s honoree, Rihanna.”
“Kunis was born in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union and immigrated to Los Angeles when she was 7. The 29-year-old actress credits “The Price Is Right” host Bob Barker for helping her learn English.”

Calico Blackie says:
Really now. The sexiest woman alive?
REALLY?
I see better looking women on the streets every time I make a pilgrimage to the “big city.”
What makes her so special?
Besides, to me, the sexiest woman alive is my wife. Not because I’m “pussywhipped”, but because she chose me out of the vast pond and she’s the one that comes home with me after every dance.
But, enough about my preferences and views concerning women and their various attributes and traits.
There IS a whole big world out there.
This happened in San Francisco yesterday:
Dozens arrested during SF protest
“Around 22 people were arrested at a protest Saturday afternoon at Justin Herman Plaza after projectiles including rocks, paint and flares were thrown at police, according to San Francisco police.”

Here’s a mugshot of a dirty hippie protester (Daryl Hannah) that was arrested for protesting an oil pipeline in Texas. We protesters sure are a dangerous looking group!
Calico Blackie says:
Somebody threw a rock and the cops over reacted as usual. Did you see the truth on livestream?
The article continues…
“The protest, which began shortly before 3 p.m., started an unpermitted march west on Market Street, according to Officer Gordon Shyy.”
“Group members, many of them reportedly wearing black clothing and black masks covering their faces, began to block traffic, Shyy said. Some also allegedly vandalized vehicles and businesses as they walked.”
Calico Blackie says:
Somebody broke a window and the cops over reacted as usual. Did you see the truth on livestream? It looked like an undercover cop breaking windows.
“When officers arrived on the scene they were struck by projectiles allegedly thrown by group members, Shyy said. One officer received a non-life threatening injury to his head.”
Calico Blackie says:
If so many “projectiles” were thrown, how is it that only one person was injured? This story makes it sound as if the cops were subjected to a hail of stones. Did you see the truth on livestream?
The article continues…

Here are the “items” confiscated from the protesters in San Francisco. Really now. Is this the best you got, SFPD? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Reminds me of a street bust where an ounce of pot is given a street value of 1.5k by the cops
“In total, police made 22 arrests, on charges including conspiracy, riot, refusing to obey a lawful order from a peace officer and resisting delaying and obstructing a police officer, and assault and batter on a police officer.”
“Occupy protestors also established themselves in front of San Jose City Hall for what organizers say is intended to be a peaceful 24 hour event, from noon Saturday to noon Sunday.”
“San Jose group members said they are emulating a similar event in Redwood City on Sept. 28 that took place without problems. They also said that they had attempted to work with city officials and even sought a permit for the event, but were unable to get an open response.”
“We are happy to be proceeding with our event with the knowledge that we made every attempt we could to communicate with the city honestly and in good faith about our event,” the group said in a statement.”

Calico Blackie says:
What a joke. Except, the joke’s on us.
Can’t get a permit to protest? Get arrested.
Whatever happened to the Constitution?
Oh yeah, it was buried somewhere between the NDAA, The Patriot Act, and Christina Hendricks humongous boobs.
IT WAS BURIED IN APATHY.
And the Presidential race continues. This was the big story in the Huffington Post this morning.…..
Monday’s Daily Brief: Mitt Romney Closes Gap

Striking “dirty hippie” Wal-Mart workers being arrested BY RIOT COPS. Why isn’t this on every front page? Oh yeah….Who owns the media?
Calico Blackie says:
So, Conservative America…..
Even the Huffington Post feeds us this pro-wrestling-like bullshit to distract us from the news that really matters.
And so….
That’s enough for today. I’ve got to get on with my simple rural life out here in the country.
Y’all have a good one.
Keep the faith, and…
OCCUPY ALL STREETS!
