ARE YOU READY TO GO THE DISTANCE?
on January 4, 2012 at 12:31 pmGreetings from Calico Blackie on the Klamath River!
Over the past few days, I’ve written about disaster preparedness and I hope I gave you some good tips regarding how to form a support group and do well in the event of a calamity.
Now, is the time for us all to give it some thought.
Don’t dwell on it, or become obsessed with it, just do it and be ready “just in case.”
That being said…..
What happened with the Iowa Carcasses?
From MSNBC
Romney edges past Santorum in Iowa caucuses photo finish
“Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney eked out a razor-thin victory in Tuesday night’s Iowa Republican caucuses, holding off former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum’s late-in-the-game-surge to win.”
”Texas Rep. Ron Paul finished third, at 21 percent. Three other candidates, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann had also sought to beat expectations and rejuvenate their candidacies in subsequent primary contests in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Perry said he would take the next few days to re-assess his campaign.”
”Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann has suspended her campaign for the White House.”
“I have decided to stand aside,” she told a room of supporters and reporters in Iowa. Bachmann said she leaves the race knowing the campaign was run “with integrity.”
“She said now, the country needs to “stand united behind the person our party chooses to be the standard bearer.”
Calico Blackie says:
Mitt Romney?
What is this?
Another showing of “The Biggest Loser?”
I was almost sorry that Bachmann pulled out. It was fun to listen to her rantings.
Also, did anyone notice that both Democrats and Republicans have been merciless in their attacks on Ron Paul, but he still managed to finish third after being painted out as being crazy?
Ron Paul had both parties running scared for a while and probably still has them worried.

They said I was crazy too for opposing Free Trade agreements. How's that NAFTA working out for y'all, America?
He has the capacity to pull votes away from any other GOP candidate running for the nomination AND he has the capacity to pull votes away from the Democrats if he wins the nomination.
Either way, the circus is now going full steam ahead.
Any way you slice it, whoever gets in the White House will be the candidate that the 1% wants in the White House. Who knows? Maybe they’ll want Obama to stay there. Either way, you and I will lose the election.
So, now the “Big Top” moves on to the next state’s primary.
Meanwhile, the world still turns.
What else is new out there?
From CNN
#NDAA arrest, medic carried out by NYPD
“A photographer was participating in the Occupy protest at Grand Central yesterday when police arrested and carried a protester out of the station.”
’At Grand Central Station as soon as the Occupy protest walked in, police got to the main concourse and the first person to speak up, they just grabbed and threw him to the ground. They took off his backpack and carried him away. There were tourists there asking why he got taken away,’ he said. He was arrested for seemingly doing nothing.
Calico Blackie says:
Where in the hell is the Tea Party outrage over this?
When the police can arrest you just because they feel like arresting you, the system is broken and our Constitution is null and void.
The Constitution is rapidly becoming just a piece of paper to be ignored by the 1% and their armies of darkness. Why isn’t the Tea Party protesting over this? Oh yeah, that’s right. They haven’t got permission to protest from the government. Tea Party….When you “grow a pair,” come back and talk to Calico Blackie. In the meantime, just get out of our way.
And…..In the News from England:
Police Narrow Profile of Human Remains Found on Queen’s Estate
“British police are re-examining local missing persons cases, including the disappearances last year of two young women, as they expand their investigation into the human remains on the grounds of the vacation retreat where Queen Elizabeth and the royal family had spent the holidays.”
Calico Blackie says:
Blimey! Looks like they’ll have to call Inspector Barnaby back from retirement and also send for Colombo from the USA to crack the case!
And, have you seen this?
Mice No Match for Mountain Dew
Imagine this new ad campaign: How strong is your Mountain Dew? Powerful enough to dissolve a rodent! Not exactly Madison Avenue material, but that is exactly what Pepsi — the manufacturer of Mountain Dew — claims in an Illinois lawsuit.
Ball sued the soft drink company, seeking damages in excess of $50,000. Now as it seeks to dismiss the lawsuit, Pepsi argued Ball couldn’t possibly have gagged on a mouse because Mountain Dew’s powerful ingredients would have dissolved the rodent’s body before the can ever reached the vending machine. By then, Pepsi’s experts insisted, it would have become “a jelly-like substance.”

Calico Blackie says:
I hear it goes great with battery acid. We’re putting this crap on the shelves?
By the way…..Something, something….Syria….Iran….Afghanistan….Crumbling European Economy….
Rich getting richer in the USA while the poor get poorer…..
It’s all in the news, if you care to read it.
Or, you can have another cool and refreshing Mountain Dew.
Put down the Dew and DO!
Get your butts out there and demand change for the better.
Protest.
Fight for our Constitutional RIGHTS.
Before it’s too late.
And remember…..
Don’t forget about Officer Pike of the UC Davis PD. Let’s never forget how he and other police officers have treated peaceful protesters. He should be arrested and tried for assaulting the public.
A final thought….Did you ever think that maybe certain members of the Tea Party have already formed their “small groups” and are just waiting to see if we falter?
Keep fighting for our rights!
