Sometimes, it feels like a curse
There is something happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear. But I do know that it has to be stopped and active resistance is our last and only hope.
I’m not talking about shooting up the streets.
I’m talking about supporting protests around the country and world wherever and whenever an attempt is made by the 1% and their wholly-owned subsidiary in Washington DC to take away the rights of citizens.
I’m talking about speaking up and, if necessary, taking to the streets in protest. MAKE THEM HEAR OUR CONCERNS. So, what is the latest and greatest threat? The concept of a National ID Card. With NDAA now the “law of the land” we can be required to jump through any hoops the authorities may place before us.
Is it coming down to this?
The penalty for refusing to comply could result in indefinite detention for “violators.”
We’ve all seen the movies where the sinister looking guy in the black trenchcoat approaches a citizen and asks the question: “Papers please?”
It's for your own safety, citizen
We all know that it usually ends poorly for the citizen.
Calico Blackie can envision the day where we will all be required to carry a card that is tied into a National “Security” central database.
If you don’t have the card, you either get nothing, or you get arrested and sent to a camp for “reeducation.”
Society, run by the corporations, will eventually allow the 1% to tighten their ever-increasing grip on we, the people.
The “card” will be used for everything from voting at the polls, to making simple purchases at the grocery store.
The rules change and there isn't anything you can do about it!
Over the years, we’ve been conditioned to accept the “convenience” that our cards have provided us. You can get cash at an ATM machine, and use your card to pay for items at the store, and online. Easy, right?
But there is a much darker side to this “convenience.”
Imagine this future scenario….
You’ve lost your job and had to make sacrifices. Nothing major, yet. But things are a heck of a lot tighter than they used to be.
Due to the corporatization of America, your choices are now limited to going to THE bank, THE store, THE communications company, THE utility company….You get the picture.
This is what they'll tell you
Because times are tight, you’ve put off paying THE utility company for a month so that you can buy food for your family. You go to THE store and get to the checkout lane. The checker totals your items and you swipe your all-in-one card, only to discover that the money you were going to use to buy groceries with has been diverted to THE utility company to cover the amount you owe. NO FOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
You go back home to starve with your hungry family, while the fat cat CEO of THE Utility Company rakes in another huge bonus and raises the rates, thus causing senior citizens to freeze to death in their homes.
Does the above scenario sound far fetched? It’s coming to your town soon!

DHS Now Issuing Thousands of New Photo ID’s for ‘Voting Purposes’
“One of the true hallmarks of any successful police state is a compulsory national ID. On this score, Janet Napolitano’s Department of Homeland Security has officially taken up challenge of making sure that no American will be left without one. Tennessee provided the launchpad for this new DHS police state project, but like anything with the DHS, it’s hard to actually pinpoint whose banner it is actually run under.”
“The program was quietly ushered in earlier in 2011, as reported today by Tennessee journal Clarksville Online.”:

“The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security today announced that 9,492 photo IDs had been issued for voting purposes from July 1st through December 31st, 2011.”
“The vast majority (8,989) of those issued were non-photo driver licenses converted into photo driver licenses, while 503 were original photo identification cards.”
“If Tennessee passes another state law making the new ID cards a prerequisite for voting, which the current trajectory of this legislation seems to be aimed towards, then other states could follow suit, making it illegal to cast one’s vote without this new generation DHS Federal ID Card.”

It should be named: “The Department of Beating Down the Citizenry.” But, you don’t care. It would never happen here.
Besides, it’s much more fun to go online to Facebook and compare our likes and dislikes of the latest coffee flavor at Starbucks.

N.J. homeless find refuge in the woods
“Angelo Villanueva was working as a mason until the housing market collapsed.
“I lost my job, lost my insurance, lost my car, lost my apartment,” he said. For nine months, he’s been living in the woods near Lakewood, New Jersey, where we first met him last fall. “I never thought I’d be homeless,” he said. “I used to think homeless people were bums, but actually it can happen to anyone at any time.”

“Minister Steven Brigham founded Tent City five years ago when he learned there were no homeless shelters in Ocean County.”
“We’ll probably have about twice as many people going into this winter as we did last winter,” he said. About 80 people live here.”
“It’s a living demonstration of what the economy is doing to people. These have no other safety net to fall back on, so they are falling into Tent City,” said Brigham.”
“Lakewood’s Deputy Mayor Steven Langert says the residents are squatters. He wants them evicted.

On Friday, Judge Joseph Foster denied Lakewood’s request to disband the camp.
“There is a governmental responsibility here to care for the poor at some level,” he said. He ordered mediation to decide how that responsibility might be met.”

Minister Brigham knows firsthand the travails of living hand to mouth, as he resides in a converted school bus parked on the premises.
Helping his fellow occupants became, quite literally, a matter of life and death.

“Before setting up this camp, one local man died from pneumonia after living on the streets, while another froze to death in his car,” Brigham told AFP.
“We haven’t requested a penny of government money,” Brigham explained.”
“But that hasn’t stopped legislators from trying to kick us out. Last year, we gathered together some wood and built 30 shanties that people could live in rather than tents.”
“But the township council made us tear down every one of them.”
HOW DARE HE TRY TO HELP THEM!
The results were devastating. Brigham continued:
“Last winter we suffered through a 30-inch snowfall that dismantled every tent. Imagine being kicked out of a 12-foot-by-12-foot shanty smaller than most people’s backyard shed. Then the snow came and destroyed our tents.”

Anti-police protesters take to streets of Oakland
More than 50 Oakland police officers stood guard outside headquarters as roughly 100 people protested the authorities.
Leave peaceful protesters alone!
Protesters were asked via Twitter to come to Frank Ogawa Plaza Saturday night, dress in all black and march to Oakland police headquarters. The march was expected to begin at 8 p.m., but the hundreds of protesters gathered at the corner of 14th and Broadway for an hour before they marched at 9 p.m.
Demonstrators held signs that read, “Stop the police,” and “Native Americans United.”
A few people were arrested during the demonstration, but the exact number was unavailable Saturday night.

Once again, we see skillful editing of a story in the hopes that the reader will only skim the headline and read the first sentence of the article before moving on to the next story. “Roughly 100 protesters” turned into “Hundreds of protesters” later on in the article.
I saw the live feed from that event, broadcast by @punkboyinsf on twitter.
There were SEVERAL HUNDRED protesters there!

Don’t forget about Officer Pike of the UC Davis PD. Let’s never forget how he and other police officers have treated peaceful protesters. He should be arrested and tried for assaulting the public.
