Greetings from Calico Blackie!

The new motto for BOTH political parties. "Good Enough"
Yet another round of primary elections was held yesterday here in the United States.
The winners cheered and the losers…Well, we went to the polls and voted in yet another forlorn hope that we might actually make a difference.
Anyone who has been paying attention these past few decades knows we can elect Krusty the Clown to fill the House, Senate and White House and it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.
Or, maybe it would. Krusty would probably be more honest and open when it came to not caring about us “peons.”
On Wall Street and in Washington, DC, at best, they’re not listening to us or are ignoring us. At worst, they’re planning new and more devilish methods to control us by passing restrictive and unconstitutional laws and militarizing our police forces.
Congress has a 9% approval record while our President promised “Hope and Change” and delivered “Business as Usual.”
Romney promises tax cuts for the rich and austerity and benefit cuts for the rest of us.

Bank of America: THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN. Do the bank and their paid-for politicians care about us?
So, who’s listening to us? NOBODY.
THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU.
Bank of America = Too big to fail.
Another bailout on it’s way!
Do you hear “our” President and Congressmen suggesting that maybe it would make for a healthier America to break up the huge banks into smaller entities and end the stranglehold that Wall Street has on the country?
NO. THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT AMERICA EITHER.
But, back to the campaign trail. Did you see this?
From MSNBC:
First Thoughts: The margins told the story

IT'S A CIRCUS! THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU
“President Obama was expected to win the West Virginia primary, but not to be WITHIN 20 points TO A CONVICTED FELON SITTING IN FEDERAL PRISON IN ANOTHER STATE.”
“By the way, wonder why Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin says he’s not sure who he’ll vote for this fall in the presidential election? This is why — and why West Virginia will continue to be the butt of jokes by coastal elites.”
“Yesterday was the first time in a speech that was supposed to be a pivot speech when it actually felt like Romney was pivoting to the general election.”
“Every other time he was supposedly pivoting, it felt more like he was still trying to appease conservative voters – not independents. Well, yesterday he was in the accepted birth state of the famous Reagan Democrats – Michigan, where he was born and raised, and he invoked Bill Clinton, trying to put paint Pres. Obama as someone who has turned his back on Clintonism.”

CLINTONISM? Good Lord Mitt!
“With a sitting Democratic governor not running for reelection because she’d probably lose, a sexual harassment scandal within the state party, AND Amendment One passing OVERWHELMINGLY, Obama and Democrats have a real mess on their hands – and maybe that strategy was too cute by half.”
“The overwhelming North Carolina vote to define marriage as legal only between a man and woman is an unequivocal reminder that gay marriage remains unappealing in many parts of the country, even as its support grows overall nationally.”
Link is here: http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/09/11616497-first-thoughts-the-margins-told-the-story?lite
The people vote on the issue of gay marriage, and the Supreme Court will nullify the vote as “unconstitutional.”
Why? Because it keeps us divided and fighting among ourselves. It gives us an issue to fight about whose outcome makes no difference to big business Wall Street profits.

They're not listening to us because they don't care
Why wasn’t The NDAA struck down as unconstitutional? Why isn’t robbing us so that bank CEO’s could get huge bonuses for their mismanagement and lack of caring about the PEOPLE illegal?
While we’re distracted by voting on gay (human) rights, which shouldn’t even be an issue in our “free” country, we’re being hammered by CISPA and other “Big Brother” laws.
WHY DON’T WE GET TO VOTE ON THOSE?
The answer? Because the “powers that be” won’t let us vote or decide on items that might actually make a difference to them, their profit margin, and their power over “We, The People”.

It's an illusion
The fact that many Americans are dissatisfied with the way things are going here is obvious to anybody with eyes.
Running UNOPPOSED in North Carolina, “our” President was able to garner 79.2% of the vote, with 20.8% voting no preference amongst Democrats who voted.
In West Virginia, Obama was able to only garner 59.4% of the votes against his opponent, K. Judd in the primary (who is a convicted felon sitting in prison). Judd got 40.6% of the vote.
What does that tell you?
WE’RE DAMNED ANGRY! But, do you think they really care about us in DC or on Wall Street?
Here’s the latest bullshit we’re being fed by the Bloomberg propaganda machine:
Job Openings in U.S. Rise to Highest Level Since 2008

Everything is getting BETTER! Have you ever wondered why we're such a legally doped-up nation?
“Employers in the U.S. were seeking to fill more jobs in March than at any time in almost four years, showing growing confidence in the U.S. economy.”
“The number of open positions increased by 172,000 to 3.74 million, the most since July 2008, from a revised 3.57 million the prior month that was larger than previously estimated, the Labor Department said today in Washington.”
“Another report showed small companies were more optimistic on their outlook.”
“More vacancies are a sign American companies were planning to expand at the end of the first quarter, undaunted by the jump in fuel costs or concerns that global economic growth will slow.”

Calico Blackie says:
What types of jobs are opening, and what do they pay? Poverty level pay?

How your employer looks upon you the day you retire & the company has to start paying you your pension (if you were lucky enough to have a pension plan)
Are they non-union jobs with no benefits?
Also, is it the employers that are showing a growing confidence in the economy, or is it the propaganda machine not accounting for people being replaced after leaving the workforce due to retirement, firings, or other reasons?
If we’re adding so many jobs, why do the REAL unemployment (not the cooked-up statistics) numbers remain so high?
We’re being lied to. It’s almost as if we’re being used as pawns in a big game by powerful people who don’t give a damn about us. Uhhhh….
So, anyway…..
With our “leaders” not caring….
With “We the People” becoming more and more disenfranchised and oppressed…..
With legions of homeless Americans wandering the streets…..
What else is in the “news?”
Melissa Gilbert talks ‘Dancing With The Stars’ elimination and ‘amazing’ experience

Melissa Gilbert seen here after the show, on her way to apply for a new job at Hooters
“There were two eliminations on “Dancing With The Stars” on May 8. Roshon Fegan was the first celebrity to get the axe on Tuesday night’s results episode, but former “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert said when she was standing underneath the red lights alongside Katherine Jenkins, she knew she’d be the one to get the boot.”

THIS IS BULLSHIT.
The American people care more about this show and it’s “stars” than they do about what’s happening to our country and it’s citizens.
Maybe we should just vote Melissa Gilbert into the White House, move our seat of government to Hollywood, and be done with it.
It probably wouldn’t make a Goddamned bit of difference.
Does anybody care anymore, or are we all gulping down the happy pills and bullshit we’re being fed?
Check this out:
From Redding Coalition for the Homeless:

Occupy Philadelphia feeding the homeless, as was done by every major "occupy" group, until it was deemed illegal by the authorities
“I started this group when the Occupy movement was in its infancy, let several others moderate and was then removed and kicked out ! These people NEVER ONCE have defended the Poor and Homeless of Redding and Shasta County California, you will never see them protest for Homeless Safe Ground, Violations of Homeless Constitutional and Civil rights, the Shelter Crisis here ….MONTH AFTER MONTH NOTHING ! NO ADVOCACY OR PROTEST OF ANY KIND !!”
“I believe the Occupy Movement belongs to homeless folks FIRST ! Especially Homeless Families and Children. GROUP HI JACKED !!!”
“Fellow Global Homeless Advocates…You know my Heart by now…You know what to do…;)”

Calico Blackie replied:
“Solidarity from Siskiyou County to both Occupy AND the Redding Coalition, from A Siskiyou County “occupier.” We fight for HUMAN RIGHTS, and EVERYONE whose rights are trampled on. That includes the homeless. We fight for the Constitution. Liberty and Justice for ALL.”

Homeless in "The greatest country in the world"
To the man who fights for the rights of homeless people in Redding and to people who advocate for the homeless everywhere:
I understand your frustration.
The other day, I was watching a news program where an “occupier” was being interviewed and he said that change will be “a very slow process.” He added that it might take 10 years before we see “occupy” make any difference.
Well, guess what?
THE PEOPLE ON THE STREETS AND LIVING IN HOMELESS ENCAMPMENTS ACROSS AMERICA DON’T HAVE 10 YEARS.
Change has to come NOW. Whatever it takes.
WE don’t have 10 years either. By then we’ll all be crushed and in prison and the homeless population will be dead.
Have you seen this story?
America’s Top Prison Corporation: A Study in Predatory Capitalism and Cronyism

Don't worry. There's a new job awaiting you....IN PRISON
“This week, I will tackle the largest private prison company, the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and its unprecedented proposal to buy prisons from money-strapped states, as well as how CCA has gamed the system with trips through the revolving door, self-dealing and influence peddling.”
“Just to set the stage as to how large the prison population is in the United States: our prison population is the highest in the world; one out of 100 US residents are in prison. This number has grown dramatically since 1990, due to tighter crime laws and longer sentences. “Between 1970 and 2005, the number of people incarcerated in the United States grew by 700 percent.”

So, what am I, Calico Blackie doing about it, you ask?

You can see the Siskiyou Wilderness in the background!...oh, wait a minute
I educate. I talk to people in town and tell them why I’m an occupier.
I spread the word about homelessness.
I’ve volunteered my time in the soup kitchens. I blog and I support my allies.
I do everything I can, but if you’re at all familiar with the area where I live, you know that I have to be very careful.
Publicly proclaiming support for the Occupy Movement and advocating for the homeless in this county can be likened to someone wearing a Winston Churchill T-shirt in 1938 Berchtesgaden, Germany.
Yet….
Change has to come NOW…….Whatever it takes.

WHATEVER IT TAKES
And it won’t be at the polls. I guarantee that.
They don’t give a damn about us.
IT WILL HAVE TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY US, ON THE STREETS.
Keep the Faith, Occupiers.
Keep the faith, Redding Coalition for the Homeless.
OCCUPY WALL STREET
