1984. It's here. It's now.
The following email was waiting for me in my inbox this morning. I was a bit surprised by it because it was sent to me by a friend who is also a member of a motorcycle gang.
It read:
Dear Friends:
“There are less than 7 months until election day when the people will decide who will be the next President of the United States ..
The person elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the Democrats or the Republicans. It’s time that we all need to come together, Democrats and Republicans alike.”
“In a bi-partisan effort for America : If you support Mitt Romney, please drive with your headlights ON during the day. If you support Barack Obama, please drive with your headlights OFF at night. Together, we can make it happen. ”

No matter how many times I say it, I just can’t get people to believe that partisan politics and the two-party system is killing our country.

When we go to the polls in November, it will be like having a choice between Al Capone or Lucky Luciano. I just can’t find myself supporting Obamney or Romama.
Whether you supported him or not, the media destroyed Ron Paul in the same manner that they destroyed Ross Perot when he came out and said he didn’t support NAFTA.
How’s that working out for us now?
We need to re-think the democratic process.
Would Ron Paul have been good for us? We’ll never know. What is known is that Paul may have pulled in a lot of democrats and moderates to vote for him, and he might have beaten Obama.
BUT,WHETHER YOU LIKED HIM, OR HATED HIM, HE THREATENED THE STATUS QUO AND THAT’S DANGEROUS.
There was no way the GOP was going to make him their candidate and there was no way the DNC was going to let him run against their candidate.
Anybody that poses a threat to the status quo in this country will never stand a chance.
What candidate is listening to us?
How in the hell do the voters give Romney such an overwhelming victory in California and also re-elect Diane Feinstein? She won with such an overwhelming majority that most of the Romney supporters had to have voted for her.
Either that, or all of these elections are decided in corporate boardrooms before we even go to the polls.
We’ve got to stop playing partisan politics because that just keeps us divided and fighting amongst ourselves.
If we don’t do this, I’m afraid that sometime in the future, we will see people voting from the rooftops.
Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, Scott Walker and his cronies spent millions of dollars defeating the recall effort so that he can keep a job that pays $144,440 a year.
Fight the power? Yeah, right. What chance does she have if citizens don't back her up?
What chance do we “occupiers” have against a political system that is little more than organized crime run amok when they are the ones making the rules?
What chance do we have when the mainstream corporate media is used against us to mislead and misinform the masses?
What chance do we have when Wall Street has all the money and power when all we have is our bodies and voices?
What chance do we have when we remain divided among fabricated lines such as men vs. women? Black vs. white? Gay vs. straight? Democrat vs. Republican?
All we can do is protest and hope that when the crackdown comes, it won’t be too harsh. All we can do is remain defiant.
They certainly can arrest us all. Given the proper propaganda treatment, the masses wouldn't blink an eye if they arrested us all. After all, it doesn't affect them
I keep hearing the refrain: “They can’t arrest us all.”
That’s what YOU think.
They sure as hell can arrest us all. All they have to do is sway a majority of people into thinking we (or any particular group) are the enemy. That we’re somehow threatening them by our fighting for “Liberty and Justice for All.”
All they have to do is make the majority think we are somehow a danger to a comfortable world of cable TV, imported crap, and Velveeta Cheese.
Think about it.
We’ve become a society that doesn’t give a damn about anything as long as it isn’t affecting us. People in America just don’t seem to care anymore.
But we better care, because each of us might be identified as the next “enemy” that Wall Street and their wholly owned subsidiary goes after when they look for another scapegoat to distract our attention away from what is really happening to our country.
Whose face will the boot be stomping next?
The 1% and the rest of the “powers that be” know we need enemies to fear. When and if the Occupy Movement is crushed and safely locked away to toil forever in the prison industrial complex, who will be next?
Will it be YOU?
Who will be our next object of fear?
It’s easy for our “leaders” and their media to create enemies for us to fear.
How is it easy, you ask?
Any easily visible fringe group is an easy target. Even if there’s a whole lot of members in that fringe group. For instance:
Back in the early 1980s, I had a job of going out into the forests looking for archaeological and historical sites. It was a great job. I worked with biologists, botanists, the timber crew, geologists, and other members of various disciplines and professions in the performance of my job.

One day, we were all called together to hear a lecture by a Federal Law Enforcement Officer concerning the rise of marijuana cultivation in our forests.
He spun a climate of fear for us.
He showed us booby traps used by the growers to protect the pot fields. He described the growers and why they were the ENEMY.
He said, and I quote:
“You might know a few hippies out there that grow their own weed and they’re just contributing to a bigger problem. The bigger problem out there is that now the pot fields and crank (methamphetamine) labs are run by organized crime. They’re run by outlaw biker gangs.”
“THEY’RE RUN BY THE HELLS ANGELS!!!!“
“You might think that they’re just a bunch of guys who like to ride their motorcycles into town, raise hell and screw a few of the local girls, but they’ve evolved into something else. They’re now ORGANIZED CRIME.”
ONLY YOU!
He then proceeded to show us what pot plants and bags of weed looked like (much to our amusement), and urged us all to be vigilant when we were working out there in the woods. He also told us all to report any pot plants or bikers we might see in the woods.
Then, we were all sent off to work.
This was just a small-scale scare tactic. But, what if our leaders decided to give us a new enemy to fear on a massive scale? It would be easy to target bikers.
All the media would have to do is pound us with news stories every time a fight broke out at a biker bar. Every time rival gangs fought. Every time some drunked-up guy on a motorcycle killed himself. Every time a pot farmer also happened to own a Harley.
Do you think the average American dad would rather see his daughter with this group, or with a group of "occupiers"?
Every time another town enacted an ordinance against loud pipes that was being ignored by the bikers. Every time a local girl got “screwed.”
Every time……
Just think. Law enforcement could crack down even harder on these “menaces to society” and many of us wouldn’t even care.
We might not even be fazed if they declared all motorcycle club members to be “domestic terrorists.”
As a matter of fact, a lot of people might even welcome the crackdown because they wouldn’t have to hear those annoying loud pipes anymore.
They would welcome it because they wouldn’t have to worry about their daughters getting screwed when the gang rode into town.
Domestic Terrorists? Or is it an All-American way of life?
They would welcome the crackdown in the INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY.
After all, it wouldn’t affect us.
Would it?
Today, all the media has to do is decide what’s important for us to know, and what isn’t important for us to know. Unless we dig deep for our news and information in sources other than the mainstream media, we don’t get to decide for ourselves.
They decide what we see and what we like and dislike. They decide what we need, and what we FEAR. They identify our enemies for us. And we let them do it.
Why do we let them decide for us?
We let them do it for us because we have become a citizenry that wants to be led and told how to be. Because we’ve gone from a society that loves self-government to being a society that wants to be governed.
So….
But yeah, mister Harley rider. Just keep riding your bike. After all, it won't have an effect on you
Who is the next group of “domestic terrorists” and arrestees going to be?
Who do we fear next?
Occupiers? Unions? Bikers?
Maybe even Jews, Christians, Muslims or Atheists?
Maybe YOU?
You had better start speaking up now, because it might already be too late for most of us.
