WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON – WOULD THEY HAVE BEEN BLACK BLOC?
on February 20, 2012 at 1:03 pmGreetings! It’s Presidents Day in America.
Today is the day we honor our past Presidents, in particular, Washington, Lincoln, and Jefferson.
Maybe we can solve our energy problems by hooking up turbines to their graves. The spinning would power most of the nation’s electricity needs and also give us a greater appreciation for the past leaders of our country.
Couple that with harnessing all the hot air that comes out of Congress and we could heat our homes too. Maybe then Congress would be something other than worthless to the American people.
“Washington’s Birthday officially honors the life and work of George Washington, the first president of the United States. The day commemorates past presidents of the USA. Washington’s Birthday is sometimes known as Presidents’ Day. This is because while most states have adopted Washington’s Birthday, some states officially celebrate Presidents’ Day.”

Maybe we can cut through the crap and just have all of our holidays re-named “spend money days.”
I wonder how many Americans have any idea who Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln were, other than having a vague idea that they’re dead leaders who did something a long time ago?
How many people today even know what these three Presidents did and what they stood for? It’s a shame that a day set aside to honor these great men has been bastardized into “buy new panties day” by the corporations. Maybe the corporations want it that way.

He couldn't have gotten elected today. He didn't have enough money AND he would be considered a "domestic terrorist" for his ideas
It’s as if they don’t want us to remember. Maybe they don’t want us to become imbued with ideas that might cause us to become patriotic and demand a return to a “Government of the People, By the People, and For the People.”
Those ideas set forth by our Founding Fathers were revolutionary.
Imagine if those great thinkers of 1776 and 1860 were around today to see what we’ve become? Would they be “Occupiers?” They certainly wouldn’t have been Tea Partiers. No. They tried protesting and working with the existing government of the time. When that failed, they picked up a sword and became the Black Bloc of their time.
We’ve tried, and we will keep trying, like Washington and Jefferson originally tried to do, to find peaceful solutions to our problems.
We will continue to occupy.
We will continue to endure the police brutality at the hands of the 1%. We will continue in the footsteps of Martin Luther King for as long as we can.
But, our patience is wearing thin.
Americans are traditionally an impatient people.
We want immediate gratification. The 1% understands this and actively works to keep us ignorant.
They shut down our schools and cut education funding. They put ever increasing numbers of us in their prisons, while the real crooks sit in their offices on Wall Street and in Washington DC.
They give our young people the choice of going into massive debt, joining the military, working at McDonalds, or entering prison.
And for what? THEIR PROFIT.
Yes, we want immediate gratification. We want an end to corruption in government.
We want an end to the maximum profit mentality.
We want an end to the prison industrial complex.
We want an end to the police state that we’ve become. AND WE WANT IT NOW!
OCCUPY! IT IS OUR BEST AND LAST HOPE SHORT OF ARMED INSURRECTION.
Did you know that there are protests going on today by Veterans Groups in Washington, DC against the tyranny of our government?
Did you know that there is a protest going on today by “occupiers” outside the walls of San Quentin Prison in California to call attention to the rise of the prison industrial complex in America?
Did you know that there are huge demonstrations being planned for February 29th and May 1st across the Nation?
Why didn’t you know about this?
We don’t know about these things because the 1% and their mainstream media doesn’t want us to know about them. They would much rather we concern ourselves with panties and brassieres going on sale at Macy’s.
They are in a frenzy hoping that we don’t wake up from our media-induced stupor long enough to stop and think about what Presidents Day really means and what these great men stood for.
They are afraid we will demand an end to the bailouts and bonuses.
An end to the obscene profits of the oil industry, banks and large corporations, all made at the expense of our crumbling society.
They are afraid we will begin to follow the teachings of Jefferson and Washington.
They are afraid that we will reject their wars for profit and their greedy ways.
They are afraid that as more and more people find themselves with nothing left to lose, the disenfranchised citizens will join us in protest.
They are afraid that we will become energized with the Spirit of 1776 and all it stood for.
AND THEY DAMNED-WELL BETTER BE AFRAID
They are afraid that we’ll demand, instead of cheap underwear, we’ll demand immediate gratification in the same manner that the people of 1789 France demanded it.
We are the new Spirit of 76.
We are Occupiers.
OCCUPY WALL STREET!
We are the 99%
