Good Morning!

(Good afternoon to my friends on the East Coast)

A common tactic of a worried government and ruling class

From Mediabistro via KTLA Los Angeles:

“Marines have been flocking to the social networking/aggregator site Reddit to voice their anger at the life-threatening injury inflicted on 24-year-old Iraqi war veteran Scott Olsen by Oakland police during the recent Occupy protests.”

Here’s one from Reddit user 0311kilo33:

As God is my witness. I will fight tooth and nail to restore the decency this country was founded upon.

The politicians, banks and large corporations have ruined this country.

I find it difficult to notice any sense of politeness on the streets anymore. But it goes farther. As a Marine and a citizen I am outraged.

I am sick to death of the world my children are being raised in. So I ask all of you, can you too sense the tipping point?

When will enough be enough? If not now, when? I feel the problem is that the average Joe citizen is ignorant and comfortable.

These, in addition to selfishness have become the standard for the majority of the population. As long as people are comfortable they remain silent. Well, I’m really damned uncomfortable and I’m sick of seeing this sort of shit happening.

Oakland Police were “just following orders”

The Occupy protests that are going on are our first glimmer of hope. If we can take this and move it further, get every lazy ass off their rocker and open their eyes; then maybe, just maybe we have a chance.

Semper Fi brothers, and remember who you are. Protectors of a great nation, not politicians or wealthy money grubbing bankers and the like. When it comes time, I know we’ll stand strong.

Calico Blackie says:

If online reaction is any indication, it’s not a stretch to think Olsen’s injury could be the start of something very big. We have a lot of military combat veterans in this country who haven’t been treated very well since they left the service.

Scott Olsen was fighting for ALL of us

No job prospects.

Inadequate medical coverage.

If they take their anger offline and into the streets, the OWS movement will become an extremely potent, and WELL TRAINED force.

Well, let’s see what the bootlickers over at corporate media will have to say about this.

Probably nothing.

It’s easier to keep our heads in the sand.  Fat, dumb, and happy, like cows in a slaughterhouse.  Tell us half-truths and lies and leaving out important details.  Focusing on as many negatives they can dredge up, and ignoring the real reasons we’re angry.

Wake up to their bullshit.

Hannity, Coulter, Ted Nugent, Rush Limbaugh and all the rest are just playing the role of the “Judas Steer” for the American people.

Follow me. Would I steer you wrong to enrich myself?

What is a Judas Steer, you ask?

From the website ignitingyourfuture:

“Cowboys always attempted to identify a Judas-Steer, which was a special member of a herd.

The herd usually has one cow or steer that is trained enough to lead the rest of the cows into the slaughterhouse without help or human encouragement.

These Judas cows would often see the inside of a slaughterhouse up to a dozen times before meeting their demise, unaware which time of leading their fellow cows to their death would be their last.

Here are a few of those “Judas” steers now

Ultimately, all of the cattle were dragged or coaxed into the cars, and were sent off to meet their fate in the great packing-houses.”

So…….

In just 3 decades I’ve watched the cost of living soar to unprecedented heights and also watched an unprecedented number of new multi-millionaires and billionaires appear.

At the same time, I’ve watched as an unprecedented (since the Great Depression) amount of people become homeless.

At the same time, never, to my knowledge, has there been such a massive appearance of businesses designed to essentially lie about their products and sell them to the unwary, often using the ‘new’ inflated shipping and handling trick to make bucks, and shortly after, vanish. Then the FCC weakened the laws to allow lengthy ‘infomercials’ to clog your TV and weaken the already lousy service the majority of you receive — and pay a high amount for.

Get a job, hippie!

Then the FCC weakened the laws to allow lengthy ‘infomercials’ to clog your TV and weaken the already lousy service the majority of you receive — and pay a high amount for.

I’ve heard this question asked………….

“Did the depression era people know they were in a depression?”

No. That title was applied later.

Much like now. Job cut-backs and low employment rates, low commerce exchange values overseas, low dollar value, extended government support infrastructure for the non 1%’s, etc.

Why would you say this is not a depression? Even the number of unemployed is skewed towards a popular number. How about accounting for those that haven’t been able to get a job and fell off the unemployment benefit rolls? 99 weeks without a job… are those numbers accounted for?

Disgusting. Look at those dirty hippies wanting something for free!

And no, don’t go to the “they could be working at McD’s if they wanted a job” crap. That doesn’t wash for a number of reasons.

That’s just crap we hear from the Judas steers (see above) that are nothing more than corporate mouthpieces, hired to keep us divided, ignorant, and misinformed.

It’s not that they don’t know there’s a problem in this country.

They’re paid to marginalize the ills and ridicule people that speak up about what’s wrong in this country.  They know that an awful lot of their listeners will buy in to their message, while being led into the slaughterhouse.

See the problem yet?

Fair and Balanced? You decide.

My point has been that the rich have been getting richer, the middle class has been taxed to the point of breaking, and the poor just get poorer.

We know those with the base money get richer by just sitting on their funds (less taxation, stock market growth over years, etc.).

The middle class that fund the daily running of the government by means of heavy taxation are in the long run poorer, and the poor….

……well they stay poor.

So, what can you contribute to make a change?  SPEAK UP. PROTEST.

That is EXACTLY why we are protesting, and EXACTLY why I am in support of the 99%.

BULL!!!

News from the occupy front:

From Fresno, California

“Occupy Fresno protesters plan to stay in the downtown Courthouse Park, even if their request to extend their right-to-assemble permit, which expires at midnight Monday, is denied by the county, a protester said Friday.”

“Lawyers for the protesters will ask Fresno County officials for a permit extension Monday, but the protesters will stay in the park no matter the outcome of their request, Vanessa Aranda said.”

“If they think that they can trample over our First Amendment rights, they can try,” she said.

From Los Angeles:

“City officials and protesters are holding a meeting Friday afternoon at the mayor’s office to discuss the Occupy movements throughout Los Angeles County, a police spokesman said.”

“The meeting includes representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department, members of the Occupy L.A. movement and at least one representative of the start-up Occupy San Fernando Valley protest, which is slated to kick off Saturday morning, according to LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith.”

In Fresno and all across America

“The meeting will likely determine the fate of Occupy San Fernando Valley and lay out guidelines if it is to proceed.”

From Zuccotti Park:

“And we are back reporting from #Zuccotti Park where the #OccupyWallStreet protesters suffered a blow after power generators were seized”

In Nashville:

“Early today, Night Court Magistrate Tom Nelson sent an email to Davidson County’s General Sessions judges explaining why he refused the THP’s request to sign criminal trespassing warrants against Occupy Nashville protesters.”

He noted “It is of particular consternation that the rules and curfew were enacted after a protest movement and occupation of Legislative Plaza had been tolerated for just over 3 weeks, with no notice that the group members were involved in criminal activity.’’

Fighting for what’s Right

“Nelson said the protesters should have been given a “reasonable opportunity’’ to apply for the requisite permit.”

“Fourteen hours is woefully inadequate time within which to allow the group an opportunity to comply with the newly enacted rules, regulations, curfew and permit requirements.’’

HOWEVER:

“Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed off on the plan to arrest the Occupy Nashville protesters, said Bill Gibbons, Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security at a 10:30 a.m. press conference with reporters.”

“He said the state stands by its action and insists it didn’t overreact.”

Calico Blackie says:

A common tactic.

Change the rules, pass new laws, invoke the Patriot Act, and crush the protests. Protect the 1% at all costs.  These legislators and commentators would sell their mothers on a street corner if they thought it would please their corporate masters and ensure that their fat paychecks keep flowing.

These people are not Americans. They’ve sold their country and their souls for money.  Their mantra is greed.  Don’t be fooled by them and their message of greed.

This is Sophie Scholl. They changed the laws on her too. If you don't know who this young woman is, just Google her name.

Weigh their actions and rhetoric against the Constitution and then decide for yourself what to do.

Sophie Scholl and The White Rose Movement was not afraid to speak up.  Neither are we.

OCCUPY WALL STREET

We are the 99%
