Greetings from Calico Blackie!
When I was a kid growing up, we used to have a great laugh over the antics of Wile E. Coyote and his tireless efforts to catch the Roadrunner.
It was his dream.
We laughed every time he would buy some ridiculous contraption from the Acme Company.
We knew where that would end.
We asked ourselves “Why does he keep buying junk from the Acme Company when he’s only going to hurt himself in the end and never catch the Roadrunner?”
We loved that Coyote and saw the Roadrunner as a flippant smartass.
We secretly wished that old Wile would catch the Roadrunner and realize his dream.
But, also secretly, we thought that Wile E. Coyote was pretty stupid to keep trying and failing.
After all, it was his own fault that he failed, because he kept banging his head on the wall no matter how many times those Acme products let him down.
Then, the years passed and we became just like that coyote, always chasing an unattainable dream while shooting ourselves in the foot.
Only today, the Acme Company has moved to China, and we still buy their products at a place called Wal-Mart.
We keep shooting ourselves in the foot.
We keep offshoring our jobs so that cheaply made goods can be sold to us at places such as Wal-Mart.
We keep chasing the illusion of finally realizing the American Dream. We keep chasing that Roadrunner.
And we know where that will end.
We’ve been lied to, and the people that tried to change our country for the better have been slandered, killed, and arrested.
We bought the lies.
Yet, not all of us are asleep.
We didn’t all buy into the lies told to us by corporate America and their wholly-owned subsidiary in Washington, DC.
Some of us around the WORLD are mighty damned angry, and we are willing to do something about it.
“While American corporate media has focused on yet another stale election between Wall Street-financed candidates, Occupy has been organizing something extraordinary: the first truly nationwide General Strike in U.S. history.”
“Building on the international celebration of May Day, past General Strikes in U.S. cities like Seattle and Oakland, the past demonstrations, the national general strike in Spain this year, and the ongoing student strike in Quebec, the Occupy Movement has called for A Day Without the 99% on May 1st, 2012.”
“This in and of itself is a tremendous victory. For the first time, workers, students, immigrants, and the unemployed from over 115 U.S. cities will stand together for economic justice.”

GET OUT AND FIGHT! Don’t shop at Wal-Mart for your Acme Products.
Stop shooting yourself and your country in the foot.
But I can hear it now……
Instead of YOU getting out there and protesting, you ask………….
I’m tired of these protests. “WHY CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?”
You hear this question repeated all the time. There is no easy answer.
Because we can’t “all just get along.”
Because if we got along, it wouldn’t be seen as profitable to our corporate masters.
Because there are evil people in the world.
Because there are greedy people in the world who will never be satisfied even if they take all you have.
They’re everywhere, at every level in society. Rich, poor, powerful and powerless.
And it’s illegal to kill them!
We’ve all run into people who ensure at every level we’ll never all get along.
You know them.
The office ass-kisser that makes the “right” influential friends and screws everyone else.
The gossip who talks dirt about everyone and if you’re foolish enough to go along with them, they file away what you said and use it against you at the first opportunity.
Those people delight in hurting other people and don’t care if you lose your job. We usually satisfy ourselves by saying: “Karma will catch up to them someday.”
There ain’t no such thing as Karma! LEARN THIS.
Those rich, shafting butt nuzzlers are the pillars of our society!
They get the promotions and bonuses. They climb the corporate ladder.
And they do it over our backs.
Then, when they have the power, they promote other ass-kissers because they enjoy having their asses kissed too.
That’s what our country has become.
Can you remember the 1970s & 1980s and the assault of lies the corporations unleashed upon American Society through the media, the entertainment industry and the ad agencies?
“You can never be too rich or too thin.”
“Michelob Light for the winners.”
“The cool people all party all the time”
“Disco! Studio 54!”
“Cocaine = Success!”
Perhaps the biggest lie we were fed during that era, and many people fell for it, hook, line and sinker…………….
“Unions are bad!”
We were told ALL unions were corrupt, or commies, or didn’t do anything for the workers.
Much like today, where the Occupy Movement is portrayed by the corporate media as a bunch of dirty hippies pooping on police cars (because one weirdo did it at a protest in NYC), the media hammered us with the news of corruption within the Teamsters Union.
By doing this, they convinced a significant portion of Americans that unions were actually a hindrance to labor.
Those same Americans who now work 60-80 hour work weeks and struggle to get by, and wonder why they still can’t seem to catch the Roadrunner/American Dream, are against organized labor.
Yet, we’re still being fed the same tired old lies. Why?
Because many of us still believe them. The lies and slander worked in the past, so why should the corporations stop now?
Did any of you see this in the news today? From Yahoo News:
Romney on spending: Guns triumph over butter
“Reducing government deficits Mitt Romney’s way would mean less money for health care for the poor and disabled and big cuts to nuts-and-bolts functions such as food inspection, border security and education.”
“Romney also promises budget increases for the Pentagon, above those sought by some GOP defense hawks, meaning that the rest of the government would have to shrink even more.”
“Nonmilitary programs would incur still larger cuts than those called for in the tightfisted GOP budget that the House passed last month.”
“At issue are these programs, just to name a few: health research; NASA; transportation; homeland security; education; food inspection; housing and heating subsidies for the poor; food aid for pregnant women; the FBI; grants to local governments; national parks; and veterans’ health care.”
“Romney promises to immediately cut them by 5 percent. But they would have to be cut more than 20 percent to meet his overall budget goals, assuming veterans’ health care is exempted.”
“It’s almost unthinkable that lawmakers would go along with cuts of such magnitude for air traffic control and food inspection or to agencies like NASA, the FBI, Border Patrol and the Centers for Disease Control.”
“—OTHER BENEFIT PROGRAMS: Like Ryan’s budget, the Romney plan would also cut benefit programs other than Social Security and Medicare.”
“They include food stamps, school lunches, crop subsidies, Supplemental Security Income for very poor seniors and disabled people, unemployment insurance, veterans’ pensions and refundable tax credits to the working poor.”

If you support this type of candidate and this type of legislation, you might as well pile into the Toyota, drive over to Wal-Mart, and buy all the Acme products you can while you still can afford the ammo to shoot yourself in the foot.
Cut back the social programs!
Cut back our food inspectors!
The people don’t want food!
They want DEFENSE!
“We can do without butter, but, despite all our love of peace, not without arms. One cannot shoot with butter, but with guns.” – Joseph Goebbels
Economists have since then used the phrase to demonstrate a nation’s basic decision: how to allocate resources to defend itself as a nation while not neglecting the needs of its people.
Since resources are finite both cannot be produced infinitely – the more guns, the less butter and vice versa.
In a capitalist economy the government does not fully direct this decision, but influences it through defense spending and other fiscal and federal policies.

But, you say you don’t want war? You say that our strong military will serve as a deterrent to war? Has it yet? Or are our sons and daughters still dying overseas for the profit of the 1%?
No, we don’t want war!
“Why of course the people don’t want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece?”
“Naturally the common people don’t want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood.”
“But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.”
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.”
“It works the same in any country.” -Herman Goering
