Greetings from Calico Blackie!
Somebody has to fight against injustice.
Somebody has to fight homelessness.
Somebody has to fight oppression.
That “somebody” is you and me, because the “powers that be” sure as hell ain’t gonna do it!
Don’t think the police will do it for you or will be on “your side” if they have to choose between you or their masters.
I have to wonder how many common citizens were opposed to the French and Polish Resistance Movements inside Poland and France during World War Two?
After the war, NOBODY spoke out in support of the old and defeated regime, and EVERYBODY was a member of the Resistance.
The “bread and butter” for the Gestapo and NKVD was a network of “informants” they carefully sought out and cultivated.
They relied on snitches among the populace to do their dirty work for them, and made arrests and conducted the executions. They attempted to crush all forms of resistance.
Their extensive propaganda machine portrayed the resistors as “troublemakers” and “malcontents” who only made it harder for the rest of the population that were cowed into submission. Many people bought the line and found it easier to live under the yoke of oppression.
Resistance would bring ruthless reprisals, which in turn only created further resistance.
They’ll never learn.
Speaking of resistance movements supporting the people despite what the propaganda and enlightenment departments tell us, here’s some news for you……….
Anonymous Retaliates to Israel’s Gaza Internet Threat
The hacker collective launches #OpIsrael to provide information to Gazans who fear they will lose online access
Israel’s deadly military operation in Gaza, which began Wednesday, is striking not only in its intensity (the most intensive series of airstrikes since Operation Cast Lead in 2009) but also in its exposition over social media.
As our own Alex Halperin noted Wednesday, the IDF has been using Twitter and YouTube to communicate details about Operation Pillar of Defense and to send threats to Hamas.
A number of reports also claim that Israel plans to shut off the Internet in Gaza.
When it comes to cyber-warfare, however, the IDF’s foes are legion. Diffuse hacker collective Anonymous on Thursday announced #OpIsrael via Twitter in response to Israel’s threats. In a release posted on Pastebin, Anonymous wrote:
“For far to long, Anonymous has stood by with the rest of the world and watched in despair the barbaric, brutal and despicable treatment of the Palestinian people in the so called “Occupied Territories” by the Israel Defense Force.”
“Like so many around the globe, we have felt helpless in the face of such implacable evil. And today’s insane attack and threatened invasion of Gaza was more of the same.”
“When the government of Israel publicly threatened to sever all Internet and other telecommunications into and out of Gaza they crossed a line in the sand. As the former dictator of Egypt Mubarack learned the hard way – we are ANONYMOUS and NO ONE shuts down the Internet on our watch.”
“To the IDF and government of Israel we issue you this warning only once. Do NOT shut down the Internet into the “Occupied Territories”, and cease and desist from your terror upon the innocent people of Palestine or you will know the full and unbridled wrath of Anonymous. And like all the other evil governments that have faced our rage, you will NOT survive it unscathed.”
According to the Observer’s Beta Beat, “Anonymous has already begun defacing multiple pro-Israel websites, including Falcon-s.co.il and Advocate-israel.com.
They’ve also compiled an Anonymous Gaza Care Package, which contains basic safety and surveillance avoidance information, as well as instructions for how to jigger an internet connection if Israel takes down Gaza’s servers.
Another document posted to Pastebin outlines how to connect to dial-up in the event of an internet outage.”

Support Anonymous. Be Anonymous. SOMEBODY HAS TO BE ANONYMOUS. After all, you don’t want to be seen in the future as being a collaborator for the oppressors and against the resistance that is fighting for justice and the people, do you?
Meanwhile, the fight continues here:
Protesters disrupt UC regents meeting in SF
Demonstrators shut down a street Thursday morning and interrupted a meeting of UC Regents at the UC Mission Bay campus over tuition demands.
At some point, a number of people in the room who were not necessarily students began shouting and disrupting the meeting. The regents were cleared from the room and the protesters were told to stop or they would be escorted out. They wouldn’t need the escort because they left on their own, but it wasn’t just inside where they were making noise, it was outside as well.
“We did not have a tuition increase this year. 45 percent of our students don’t pay any tuition at all, 45 percent,” said UC Business Operations Executive Vice President Nathan Brostrom. “So, if you’re a student from a family with a family income of less than $80,000, you do not pay tuition at the University of California. The average cost that a student pays is $4,400.”
Calico Blackie says:
SOMEBODY needs to speak up, so…….
That’s a Goddamned lie told by an out of touch jackass in the hopes that the readers of the article will take his words at face value.
I (Calico Blackie) graduated from UC. I was below poverty level. I KNOW what I paid and I KNOW what students are paying today. LOOK IT UP FOR YOURSELF.
The article continues…..
In between protests and disruptions, the regents heard from the public most critical of the cost at UC campuses. Brostrom said there were actually not many students protesting at the meeting because many of them were on campus. He said many of the people may have been part of labor groups dealing with their own dispute with UC.
Calico Blackie says:
Three quotes from this article are notable:
“if you’re a student from a family with a family income of less than $80,000, you do not pay tuition at the University of California.”
“a number of people in the room who were not necessarily students”
“may have been part of labor groups”
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STATE THE OBVIOUS………..
OK. See what they’re doing? The point is that tuition and fees are too high, but the Regents are trying to deflect that reality and turn the criticism away in another direction.
Anyone that has ever had a critical thinking class knows that this is a common tactic used by someone on a losing and wrong side of an argument.
It’s called: ARGUING OFF THE POINT”.
“It’s not the students”……
“It’s those damned workers and union members. We’re the good guys!”
Speaking of workers……
Did you see this?
Hostess, maker of Twinkies and Ding Dongs, says closing business
Hostess Brands, baker of iconic Twinkies cakes, said Friday it asked a court’s permission to shut down the entire company after a strike crippled its operations.
The move shuts down one of the nation’s oldest and largest producers of baked goods. Founded in 1930, it produces such well-known brands, aside from Twinkies, as Ding-Dongs, Ho Ho’s, Sno Balls and Donettes, not to mention Wonder bread, which the company says is the best-selling white bread in the United States.
In a statement, Hostess said its bakery operations have been suspended at all plants and that it would lay off most of its 18,500 workers to focus on selling its assets. It said it has filed a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeking permission to close its business and sell its assets, including 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers.
“The Board of Directors authorized the wind down of Hostess Brands to preserve and maximize the value of the estate after one of the company’s largest unions, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM), initiated a nationwide strike that crippled the company’s ability to produce and deliver products at multiple facilities,” Hostess said in the statement.
On Nov. 12, Hostess permanently closed three plants because of the strike. Two days later, the company announced that it would be forced to liquidate if enough workers did not return to restore normal operations by 5 p.m. ET Thursday.
“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said Rayburn.
Calico Blackie says:
What a shame all those workers will be laid off because the company didn’t want to give their workers a fair shake and demanded bigger profits.
Yeah, you can point out that those rich bastards contribute to charity and do good in their communities, but how many of those maggots do you think would “do good” if there wasn’t riches in it for them?
How many of them would “give to charity” if they didn’t get a nice tax deduction?
No, these slimeballs exist for their own further enrichment and do absolutely nothing out of the kindness of their hearts.
Just like the banksters on Wall Street, they exist solely to exploit and use YOU AND ME in a vain attempt to satisfy their greed.
They have no hearts and maybe their attitudes can be linked to a genetic time bomb in our DNA provided by Mother Nature that is programmed to destroy our species when greed ultimately swallows us all, thus ensuring the continuation of the rest of the worlds species (the ones we didn’t destroy).
Who gives a shit. Right? Besides……..
What’s going on with General David Petraeus?
Days after Petraeus’ resignation stunned Washington, information continues to emerge. Among other things, a video has surfaced of a speech by Petraeus’ paramour in which she suggested the Libya attack was targeting a secret prison at the Benghazi consulate annex, raising unverified concerns about possible security leaks.
The affair came to light during an FBI investigation of “jealous” e-mails reportedly sent by Broadwell to a woman named Jill Kelley, a government source familiar with the investigation told CNN on Monday.
Although Kelley lives in Tampa, Florida, she’s known as a member of Washington’s social circuit, according to the government source. The source has not spoken to Kelley, but says friends describe her as feeling like she is an “innocent victim.”
Calico Blackie says:
This is better than Peyton Place and is GREAT from keeping us distracted from what’s really going on around us. After all, “blowjobs with the stars” is MUCH better and more lurid that “dancing with the stars.”
Now, they’re worried about “security leaks.”
Never mind that the “big shots” in our country don’t even have the moral character and fortitude to resist temptation and will happily cheat on their spouses all just to satisfy an animal urge.
Never mind that these are people we trusted.
If they’ll sell you and their country for a dollar, what do you think they’ll do for a bit of illicit sex?
Ah, well. Speaking of illicit sex and getting screwed…….
Here’s a good one:
Obama, congressional leaders begin ‘fiscal cliff’ talks
President Obama opened negotiations with congressional leaders Friday on ways to avert a looming “fiscal cliff” of huge spending cuts and tax hikes, saying that Americans want “action” from government leaders instead of political bickering.
“I think we’re all aware that we have some urgent business to do,” Obama said before beginning the talks.
“We’ve got to make sure that taxes don’t go up on middle-class families, that our economy remains strong, that we’re creating jobs. And that’s an agenda that Democrats and Republicans and independents, people all across the country share.”
The meeting comes after more than a week of positioning by Obama and the leading lawmakers, including House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Calico Blackie says:
It all sounds great, but it’s just lip-service. They don’t give a damn about us. The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer, and the middle class will keep shrinking.
WE DON’T WANT “TALKS.” WE’RE SICK OF TALKS. WE WANT ACTION.
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION.
Those bastards on Capitol Hill should solve the “fiscal cliff” NOW. If they can’t or won’t work together, we should tar & feather and FIRE THEM!
RUN THEM OUT OF TOWN. OUT OF THE COUNTRY.
That being said……
Here’s a public service announcement and link:
How To Remain Connected If Your Internet Gets Shut Off
Keep all your outmoded technology – it may come in handy. If you live in a country likely to experience shut down of internet service providers at the behest of the government, keep in mind that tools like modems and even fax machines might be useful again.
You can use a modem to access the web via dial-up provided you have a working telephone line.
As in Egypt during the January 25 uprising, supporters can make available international numbers that you can dial into to avoid your local ISPs (since they will be shut down). You’ll also need an international dial in number, a working phone line, and bluetooth equipped cell phone and computer.
Stay tuned to the Telecomix activists’ network, which began providing disconnected people with dial up links to the WWW when Egypt lost its connection, and again in Libya a month later.
For much more information, Link is here: http://www.movements.org/how-to/entry/how-to-prepare-for-an-internet-connection-cut-off
On that note…….
Keep fighting and DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN!
Be prepared and stay aware of what’s going on in the world around you.
