Good Morning!
Quote for today:
Just something to think about……..
“The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”
-Reichsmarschall Herman Goering
Occupy Wall Street is still going strong Herman!
So, what’s new?
The Republican candidates debate was held in Las Vegas last night. In case you missed it, here’s a summary.
“Healthcare for the peasants is bad and so are illegal immigrants.”
“If you want pie in the sky now, with ice cream on top of it, vote for me.”
“Past policies have failed.”
“My tax plan is better than yours.”
“I’m the answer.”
In other words, same old scheisse.
In the other news:
From MSNBC:
Bank profits hammered by economic turmoil
By John W. Schoen, Senior Producer
“This is not a great time to be a banker –- whether your customers are on Wall Street or Main Street.”
“Battered by a slowing economy, a falling stock market and their customers’ worries about a looming recession in Europe, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America reported Tuesday that they lost money on their core banking operations.”
“Bank of America was able to record a profit of $6.2 billion for the quarter, thanks to accounting gains and the sale of a large stake in a Chinese bank, which offset lower revenue and income in its credit card, real estate and investment banking businesses.”
Calico Blackie says:
Huh? I thought they lost money? Please explain to this hillbilly.
The article continues with…..
“The deal also helped knock Bank of America off its perch as the largest U.S. bank by assets, which fell to $2.21 trillion in the quarter. The Charlotte, N.C., bank cedes bragging rights to rival JPMorgan Chase & Co., which reported total assets of $2.28 trillion.”
So…….
EVERYBODY PANIC! B of A only made 6.2 billion! JP Morgan is only worth 2.28 trillion!
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!
Maybe Ted Nugent and Jeff Foxworthy should hold a benefit concert for those poor people over at JP Morgan-Chase.
Lord knows Occupy Wall Street wouldn’t want to take any food out of the mouths of the children of the bankers.
It could be emceed by Rush Limbaugh.
Hannity could also put in a guest appearance.
Anything for a buck. Nugent looks like an idiot in that photograph.
I cried myself to sleep last night over the plight of those poor bankers and their children.
Oh by the way, Bank of America also announced 30,000 job cuts during the quarter as part of a plan to cut costs by $5 billion a year in the next three years.
That’s company loyalty at its best!
Maximum profit before human beings.
Meanwhile…..CAN WE JUST PUT AN END TO ALL THIS FINGER POINTING AND BLAME BULLSHIT?
Nixon screwed up.
Carter screwed up.
Reagan screwed up.
Bush screwed up.
Clinton screwed up.
Bush II screwed up.
And Obama is screwing up
Get over it and let’s start working together!!!!
They were all bought and paid for by the banks and corporations.
The fact is that, for the most part, each administration incrementally builds upon all the bad policies and precedents which were set during all prior administrations.
Thus, while we have a two-party political system to give the illusion of choice during elections, in reality we have a one-policy government, regardless of who gets elected: More debt, more spending, more wars, more bailouts, a more oppressive police state, and less general freedom for all are the unfortunate main tenets of this policy.
Yes, I fully expect to get pack-raped like a kangaroo at a dingo rally for the above statement, but I couldn’t care less. If you disagree, tell me why.
Think about it.
What good fortune for governments that the people do not think. – A. Hitler
Let’s start working together. I’m willing to give a little. Are you?
In other news:
From MSNBC
From Greece:
“Demonstrators on Wednesday threw stones and gasoline bombs at police outside parliament during a two-day general strike that unions described as the largest in years.”
“The protest, which has grounded flights, disrupted public transport and shut down shops to schools in Greece, comes ahead of a parliamentary vote on a fresh package of tax increases and spending cuts required by international creditors in return for crucial bailout cash.”
Calico Blackie says:
This is what happens when peaceful protestors are ignored. Thank you “OWS” from the bottom of my heart.
Anybody seen this?
25 now dead in cantaloupe listeria outbreak
I read the other day that only 2% of our food gets inspected by the FDA due to a lack of personnel. With all the e-coli, salmonella, and listeria deaths out there, our food industry has finally done what preachers have tried to achieve for decades. Namely, we’re all praying before eating!
Remember our goals
Together, we win!
Occupy Wall Street
We are the 99%
