The original message of this flag is GREAT
I am still not sure why the Tea Party and Libertarian types are against the OWS movement.
You’d think they would support a group who’s goal is to expose and hopefully end the corporate influence on our government, end corporate corruption, and to hold these who cause harm to the economy and our country as a whole accountable.
I am not sure what it is about the OWS movement that these people don’t agree with.
I like this:
“Remember folks: when occupying Wall Street, be sure to bring a banker. They have all the bailout money.”
Step right up and give us your money!
Wall Street is not only the house at a casino, this approaches the point where Wall Street is the house, the gambling commission, and every other player at the poker table besides yourself – they don’t need to win, they just need you to lose and they have your money.
This is the fundamental problem.
Pretty much everything else is just a symptom of it.
One of the best aspects of the “Occupy” movement?
Wall Street may continue to shove their sh*t down our throats, but never again will they be able to insist that it’s chocolate rocky road ice cream.

I’ve heard many of the critics of the Occupy Wall Street Movement using the “S” word. SOCIALISM. They throw it out there like pearls before Hannity and Coulter fans. Here’s a little lesson for you folks……

Once again the media is trying to divide us and pigeon-hole us into convenient categories.

“Anti-semitic Nazis” and the like.
Of course, the majority of any population will be a lot of things, but these sick and feebly attempts at dehumanizing the occupy Movement get tedious at times.
So anyway, for those of you who don’t really understand this and don’t want to ask because you’re afraid of looking or sounding politically ignorant…..
Here goes:
Socialism means state ownership of the means of production. In the modern sense, that usually means state ownership of one or a few key industries, such as energy production, telecom, or transportation.
There is nothing inherently socialist about a government providing services for its people. The postal service was created in the US Constitution. Was James Madison, patriot and slave owner, a socialist? Nor is it socialist to pay for these services through progressive taxation.
As it happens, programs such as old-age insurance, unemployment insurance, and the progressive income tax were advocated by socialist politicians. And socialist governments tend to offer more services because they are not so leery about state intervention in the economy. But I think it is very important to keep the distinction between socialism and the capitalist welfare state clear.

This was from a thread where one person was trying to dominate the discussion by accusing everyone in the thread that supported the demonstrators of being a SOCIALIST.
Finally, someone was fed up enough to reply.
It was on another popular website (www.fark.com) and I had a great laugh at this guys rant.
Draw your own conclusions, but it sure kept me entertained for a while.

As you sit at home, pawning your Playstations one by one to get diabetes meds, playing your ever-shrinking collection of now PS-1 games, will your first thought be “Socialism did this!!!!”? Most likely. Better go stock up on Mountain Dew and some Cheetos now before everything you have is sold or pawned because your shiatty job couldn’t give you farking insurance. Because then you’ll be the poor one and in this country, the knobs you slobber over say that you’re not entitled to health care for free. When you are buried in a shiatty grave with a wood box, your last PS-1 games will be sold off to pay your massive medical bills. Luckily, you’ll die alone, so as not to pass the burden on to anyone else. Unless your poor parents make the mistake of co-signing for anything medical related, then they’ll be on the hook for the tens of thousands of dollars it took to keep you breathing as long as you did.””But, you know, socialism is bad.”

Sound like a big drop? Try telling that to the folks at Occupy Wall Street.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” said 31-year-old Amanda Seelen, a social worker who joined the gathering in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday. “I don’t know how else to say it. It’s ridiculous.”
This poor family has to scrape by on only $292,000 a year. Please give generously

A freelance broadcaster who works for music and documentary programs has been fired from a job after NPR questioned her involvement in a Washington protest.
Lisa Simeone said Thursday that she was fired from “Soundprint,” a documentary show that is not produced by NPR. Simeone says she was fired Wednesday in a phone call during which NPR’s code of ethics was read to her.

Bert Gummer on the hunt
I’m a big fan of the “Tremors” movies. Kevin Bacon is great and I get a big kick out of watching Bert Gummer hunting Graboids.
But I know that “bread and circuses” isn’t reality.
Also, I’m a small business owner that didn’t go into business to go broke. I started it to make money.
I just would like to see the huge wealth of this country go towards making our great country even greater.
The 1% are killing America because they care about something more than they care about humanity, their country and even whatever god they attend church for. They worship money and the game of acquiring even greater wealth.
By exploiting the working class, shrinking the middle-class, and ruining opportunities for small businesses to succeed, they are un-American and anti-world.
We read stories once in awhile about the problems of rich people. We even read that some of them shoot themselves. My parents used to tell me: “See, even rich people have problems, so money isn’t everything.”
They never had money.
Heaven and Hell. Can you spot the “corporate” items in this picture?
Mae West once said: “I’ve been poor and I’ve been rich. Rich is better.”
Money is a corrupter for many people. The “root of all evil”, so to speak. But it doesn’t corrupt everyone.
At least Mae West was honest about it.
I just wish the those Bankers would realize that “No one gets out alive” and “You can’t take it with you.”
Ever wonder if there is a heaven and hell?
If there is, I’ll bet that one day there’s going to be a lot of those bankers walking around down in hell thinking that a horrible mistake was made!

The “Occupy” protests HAVE to succeed in waking up Wall Street and stopping the unbridled greed that is strangling us.
We need reforms, and I’m afraid that if the people don’t get reforms, they will take them.
STAND UP FOR AMERICA. Stop allowing corporations to mindlessly rape the world and it’s people in the name of greed.
And now a message for my fellow “OldGoats”. (you “kids” can tune out here, if you wish)
Those “Occupy” protestors are also fighting for YOUR pensions, YOUR Social Security, YOUR rights.
Stand in solidarity with them!
Stand with them so that a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth.
This should not be a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations.
Fight for your rights!
