But I would argue that the saying “to open Pandora’s box” means to unleash a situation that cannot be undone.

That being said….
What does the 1% fear the most?
They fear we will unite and fight against THEM.
That we will open the box and end a worldwide system of corruption and greed.
We’re at the most important crossroad in our history, very much like the path we were on in 1860 right before The American Civil War.
America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.
Works every time!
So, what is the tried and true game the 1% works on us to allow them to keep fleecing us?
PLAYING US OFF AGAINST EACH OTHER.
For instance:

Who is hiring them “goddamned illegals”? But, are we angry with the employers? No. They have power and hold the strings. We get angry with the workers themselves and the 1% laughs all the way to the bank.

“Hire the vet and screw everyone else!”
You can’t blame the veterans. After all, they served their country. You didn’t!
See what is being said here? Your contribution to keeping the country running means nothing.
Therefore, veterans deserve preferential hiring treatment.
You don’t deserve the job over a Vet, even if you are more qualified.
Yet, we can’t blame the veterans for this. A veteran has to eat and pay for the everyday necessities of life too. They have families to support.
So, DON’T ask yourself the next time you get turned down for a job because a veteran had 10-point hiring preference over you:
“Does my family deserve to be bankrupt and homeless more than a veteran’s family?”
Because YOU don’t deserve a job! That’s what they’re saying to you
INSTEAD, ASK YOURSELF:
“Why is the system preferential?”
“Why is such a system even necessary?”
In “The Land of Plenty” and “The Land of the Free”, shouldn’t this be a non-issue?
Shouldn’t we ALL have good and well funded programs and opportunities?”
If our government is so eager to help the veterans, why is the Veterans Administration such a mess? Why do they continue to ignore Agent Orange poisoning and PTSD problems? Why do they ignore the homeless veterans and their suicide rate?
And yet, all we hear is “HIRE THE VET.”
When did demanding equality for ALL become un-American?
WHY???
BECAUSE IT DOESN’T COST THE 1% AND THEIR GOVERNMENT TO SAY “HIRE THE VET” AND IT PROVIDES THEM WITH ANOTHER BONE OF CONTENTION TO GIVE US TO FIGHT OVER.
It allows for the military industrial complex to continue to thrive, and the returning veterans get to find new homes in the prison industrial complex.
Get it straight: Wall Street and their government doesn’t give a shit about you or veterans.
They don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves. They don’t care about veterans rights, women’s rights, civil rights, free speech, the Constitution, YOU, or the country. They’re not Americans. They’re not anything. Their only loyalty is to money, profits and power.
They only USE the concept of our “rights” as a propaganda tool to keep us divided and fighting amongst ourselves.
THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU!

And yet here we all sit watching Wall Street and the politicians make off with what used to be ours.
Billions of dollars “missing” or “lost”. Corzine is still free. Where did that money go?
And what is happening around us?
The Tea Party was bought out by the Corporations. OWS is continuing to be ignored and mocked by the media, brutalized by the cops, and then they hope, forgotten.
Guess what?
We, as a nation, really don’t care.
If we cared, we would do something about it. We have become too wrapped up in our own individual insular tragedies to care about others being screwed, or even being screwed ourselves in the aggregate.
Heck, Katy Perry having her bikini bottom slip off at the water park and giving us a glimpse of her pale ass is much more important to us right now than our civil rights are
Either that, or seeing the latest celebrity ass, nipple slip, or “Toddlers and Tiaras” is more important to us than the fact we’re rapidly sinking into an Orwellian existence.
No one is forcing us into serfdom; we are going there willingly.
Blame Obama or Bush maybe.
But the single unavoidable fact here is that rich people stole billions…and got away with it.
That’s the job of our government now: to make sure that nobody notices that the 1% in this country can LITERALLY break the law and nobody will go after them for the crimes they’ve committed.
The message is: If you’re rich you’re not going to get punished for your criminal behavior.
Why should they care about us when we’re so easily distracted and led?
And very few of us will try to do anything about it.
There must be sufficient will to change things. An individual attempting this will be chewed up. Occupy Wall Street is trying, but is still not large enough.
When the will is strong enough, things will change.
When we stop fighting amongst ourselves and stop believing the propaganda the 1% carefully feeds us, things will change.
And then what? Revolution? Do we drag them out into the street and beat them to death?
Occupy Wall Street is trying to bring about peaceful change, but is it too late for that? Will we take to the streets in large enough numbers on September 17th to make a real difference?
Will we make a difference, no matter what our numbers turn out to be, or will we be violently crushed by the armies of the 1% and then subjected to another ration of misinformation from the mainstream media?
mmmmm. Celebrity ass! Who cares what those dirty hippies are doing on Wall Street?
Or, will we be too distracted with another “celebrity ass”?
Will some cops be put on “administrative leave with pay” pending the result of an internal investigation for finally killing a few dozen protesters around the country?
Or, will we finally wise up and march together?
Black and White, Hippies and Rednecks, Men and Women, Right and Left, Middle Class, Working Class, ALL Citizens…
UNITED TO FIGHT THE COMMON ENEMY: WALL STREET.
When and if we ever do, we’ve got to know…..
Peaceful or not, it can lead to a full-on revolution. Not just here, but around the world.

So, what do we do? Do we continue down the slope to oppression and an Orwellian existence.
Do we continue to allow ourselves to be distracted by the media while it all goes to hell around us?
We’ve got to do something. It’s getting worse. It’s getting worse worldwide, and all the signs are shaping up for there to be another European War that could drag us along with it.
Asia is starting to really heat up again.
The countries of Europe are in economic turmoil.
The “huddled masses” are once again getting the short end of the stick.
Human rights are taking a back seat at home and abroad. Germany, Russia, France and England are once again emerging as the dominant European countries. Poland is caught in the middle of a superpower power-play.
And Russia is coming more and more under the grip of someone who could turn out to be another dictator.

It’s getting really scary out there. Times are getting harder and more oppressive for the average Russian and American. Are we ready to unite as CITIZENS? Right and Left across the board and across the oceans? Unite to fight our common enemy: WALL STREET and the WORLD’S BANKSTERS?
