300 channels and not a damn thing worth watching

It sure was interesting to watch the livestreamers report on the “Stop and frisk” silent march held in New York City yesterday.

What especially caught my attention was the complete lack of coverage given to this event by the Mainstream Media.

I mean, there were at least 50,000 people in the streets that supported America and the Constitution and showed their love of their country by holding this rally for freedom.

Where was CNN, Fox “news”, ABC, CBS and MSNBC?

They were busy reporting on the death of Rodney King, the trial of Jerry Sandusky, The U.S. Open golf tournament, and other “filler” stories designed to take up space on their newscasts in the same manner that unscrupulous meat packers and restaurants  put sawdust and other “byproducts” in their ground beef.

So, what did happen in New York yesterday? At least local news programs reported on the story.

NEW YORK—“A silent march by thousands of people in New York City protesting police “stop-and-frisk” tactics on Sunday was punctuated by an explosion of loud voices.”

“We’ve got to fight back, we can’t be silent!” a group of activists shouted as they passed the home of Mayor Michael Bloomberg, just off Fifth Avenue.”

Maybe if they had burned Bloomberg’s damn house down, the mainstream media might have made mention of the event.

The Boston Globe story continued with…

“But the rest of the quiet, slow procession from Harlem down the avenue was interrupted only by the tapping of feet on the pavement and birds chirping in trees along Central Park.”

Yeah, there were a few people there demonstrating against the loss of freedom in America

“Nearly 300 civil rights groups were represented in the 30-block walk, from elected officials and labor union members to New York residents angry about how they’re being treated when they walk the streets.”

“Critics say the NYPD’s practice of stopping, questioning and searching people who police consider suspicious is illegal and humiliating to hundreds of thousands of law-abiding blacks and Hispanics. Last year, the NYPD stopped close to 700,000 people, up from more than 90,000 a decade ago.”

In short, either the mainstream media feeds us crap, or they put such a ridiculous spin on the stories that the original and real story becomes lost.

Anyone wanting to see the REAL news in this country as it happens is forced to go to non-traditional sources for their news.

We either go to the internet for local sources, or we seek out the livestreamers who cover events while they’re in progress.

If you still watch mainstream media news and regard them as your primary news source….

"Stay inside and watch your TV like a good citizen. Or, go outside and you'll get frisked by the police". Who said "if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about"?

If you’re still watching mainstream media news and think they’re offering you an unbiased view of current events….

If you still watch mainstream media news and think they’re not spouting the views of their corporate masters and giving you only what they want you to see…

If you’re still watching mainstream media news and think they’re being “fair and balanced” in their attempts to keep us ignorant of what’s really going on in America….

Then you had better turn off the TV and start searching out alternative news sources.

Start seeking out the livestreamers on twitter. Read alternative news websites and find other sources such as http://www.fark.com/ and read what other people are thinking about the events that shape our lives.

Just please stop using the mainstream media as your primary news source!!!

There are dozens of livestreamers out there. Find a few and watch their reports. For instance, for the real news from San Francisco I usually watch the livestream from @punkboyinsf.

I can’t help but wonder where the mainstream media is headed and how they will be presenting us with the “news” in the future. What will their stories look like? How will they be presented to us in an America filled with corporate lies and a shredded constitution? 

Here’s my idea for what a future mainstream media “news” story will look like:

From Fox “news” dateline 2021:

POLICE CALLED IN TO ASSIST WITH CPR ON SEVERAL CITIZENS IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA

Police seen here administering CPR first aid to a citizen while keeping meddlers away from the scene

“Due to the obesity epidemic in America affecting the health of millions of Americans, dozens of policemen were on hand to administer first aid to citizens at the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame when the citizens suddenly collapsed yesterday.”

“LA Police Chief Reinhard Heydrich, Jr. commented: “Luckily, police were equipped with the latest medical devices designed to administer a strong electric shock to the afflicted populace. Thus, we were able to fully control the situation.”

Heydrich further stated: “Unfortunately there were several people arrested when they tried to meddle in the affairs of our valiant and noble men in blue.”

Fox news has learned that those arrested were taken to an undisclosed location for strenuous interrogation and re-education.

OK….

That’s enough shenanigans for now. But, you get my point.

If you think that in America we’re all a bunch of inbred hicks running around sporting mullet hairstyles and enjoying “Ow! My Balls!” shows on television, you’re not really that far off sometimes.

But, PLEASE REMEMBER…

We’re not all like that. We’re actually a really diverse culture and are just like many of you with the same needs, desires, intellect, and stupidities.
