Good Morning!
In the news today…..
BIG HEADLINE!!
Employers create 103,000 jobs in September, more than expected
WooHoo!
Another blatant statistical manipulation.
I’m sure this lie will drive the stock market higher, thus making the rich richer and YOU poorer.
I keep hearing comments in the news and on other popular websites stating:
“I went to college and majored in something marketable.”
“I was smart, the liberal arts majors were stupid.”
And most of those people are the same ones who say that the unemployed should just “get a job.”
Oh great.
With that line of thinking, there would be no arts, no thinkers or philosophers, no entertainers, just a society of drones, all goose-stepping to the same drummer.
We can’t all hit the “major in something useful” lottery.
Some of us did our research before attending college and were either lied to by different departments at the university, or our “useful” skills were offshored 20 years later.
It is very telling when the solution to our problem is summed up by a smug member of a“useful” occupation saying “get a job.”
They can’t articulate.
They’re not capable.
They will be among the most ignorant of the unemployed when their jobs get offshored, or when they are 50 and their company wants “younger, faster, fresher”.
Yet they are lucky.
I’ve worked in engineering departments where most of the engineers had that “get a job” and “they should have majored in something useful” attitude.
They kept right up with those attitudes, until their employer figured out it was cheaper to hire 10 engineers in China to do their work rather than keeping them at their desk in the United States.
But still………. they’re lucky.
So, why are they lucky?
They’re lucky because they are talented and smart.
They can work at soul crushing jobs in dark corners of offices and manufacturing floors without even thinking about it.
They are intelligent.
They can comprehend the myriad of little pieces it takes to be an engineer.
Most of us can’t.
What a lot of them can’t comprehend is that most of the population isn’t like them. Many of them see their jobs as a necessary evil. Something they HAVE to do. It’s the same for the people that used to be factory workers.
They live for the weekend. 5/7 of their lives are spent in drudgery.
They’re good worker bees who one day will die having hated 5/7th of their lives.
Turn the page.
What’s going on in the news about the Wall Street protests? So many stories, so little time.
The headline:
“Is Black America Sitting Out Occupy Wall Street?”
No minorities. It’s a white people’s protest.
Calico Blackie says:
What bull. The corporate media has begun to grasp at straws with this one.
Another feeble and transparent attempt at divide and conquer.
Since they’re so good at manipulating statistics, what part of 99% can’t they understand?
Protests are ongoing throughout the country.
In particular, check out what happened in San Francisco when the robber barons set their police force on the protesters.
Ripped down their camp and stole their stuff.
Wonderful. Many members of the ever-shrinking middle class think that the police will protect them when and if it all degenerates down to violence.
They’re wrong.
The police will be busy protecting the banks and government buildings, while innocent (yet blind) members of the upper middle class are being dragged out of their homes kicking and screaming.
PEOPLE, we have got to keep this from happening. Preach non-violence. Keep sight of our goals.
1%… Are you listening? We DEMAND our Country back!
Hey, I found an old article from February of this year. Give it a read. I’ll say no more. Judge for yourself.
