Greetings from Calico Blackie!

It’s becoming more and more dangerous in this country to voice our disapproval at the way we’re treated by the big corporations and our government. 

Protests, when they do occur are quickly suppressed by a militarized and poorly trained police force.

And it’s not just the “Occupy” protests. Any form of lawful protest that doesn’t meet with government approval is crushed.

The mainstream media portrays the protesters in an unfavorable light, and most people, whether they agree with the protests or not, sit back and do nothing but complain.

They either complain about the deterioration of the middle and working class, or (if they believe the propaganda) complain about the “dirty hippie protesters.”

But, ultimately, they do nothing. They’re stuck in quicksand, waiting for the government or their political party to throw them a lifeline.

It IS akin to seeing ourselves in a pit of quicksand. The more we struggle, the faster we sink.

When a person becomes mired in quicksand, it’s widely accepted that the best solution is to stay still.

Don’t move. Wait for help to arrive.

Maybe someone will throw you a rope.

Well guess what? Help ain’t going to arrive and we had better learn to help ourselves and each other. We can’t afford to expect the government to help us.

Instead of waiting “safely” while we’re being screwed…

Instead of waiting while we’re sinking deeper into poverty and despair….

Maybe we should pick up a Sword of Liberty and help each other to free ourselves from the quagmire.

HAVE WE FORGOTTEN THIS?……

Did John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and all the others sit around complaining waiting for King George and the British Parliament to throw them a lifeline?

No! When they realized the Colonists were being used as little more than milk cows by a corrupt and exploitative system, they declared independence and FOUGHT.

So, will you wait for Obamney Romama or Wall Street to throw you a lifeline? 

Will you do nothing because you think what’s happening today in our country will not affect you?

Will you sit idly by while Wall Street dismantles our country and our way of life?

Will you accept more restrictive laws in the name of “public safety”?

Will you sit idly by and allow the “crack in the dam” to happen if the 2^nd Amendment is gutted? Think about it.

Will we be safer when all lawful citizens are disarmed? Wall Street would love it. You can quote the statistics and say “it’s for public safety” but if that were to happen, do you really think it would stop there?

When laws are passed making it illegal for citizens to own a “dangerous breed” of dog such as Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Dobermans, Akitas, or any other breed of dog that might bite, will you cheerfully surrender your pet in the interest of “public safety”?

 Public Safety….

When Monsanto takes complete control of our food supply and successfully lobbies our lawmakers to rid us of the menace of backyard farms, chickens and gardens due to an imagined health danger, will you cheerfully dig up and abandon your garden?

Will you slaughter your livestock to prevent the trumped-up imagined threat of “bird flu” and other diseases?

WHERE DOES IT STOP?

WHAT WILL IT TAKE BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY ENOUGH TO PICK UP THE SWORD OF LIBERTY?

Get it straight: Wall Street and their wholly-owned subsidiary in Washington DC don’t  give a damn about you or your “safety.”

Did you hear about the oil refinery fire in Richmond, California two days ago?

In case you didn’t know:

Refineries emit gases such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxide (NO2), carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, dioxins, hydrogen fluoride, chlorine and benzene.

AND WE’RE BREATHING THE STUFF.

 What are the negative effects of Sulfur dioxide? Exposure to very high concentrations of SO2 can result in painful irritation of the eyes, nose, mouth and throat, difficulty in breathing, nausea, vomiting, headaches and even death.

Some of the health effects from daily exposure to outdoor levels of SO₂ are tight chests, worsening of asthma and lung disease, and narrowing of air passages in the throat and chest. People with asthma are more sensitive to SO2.

SO2 mixes easily in water, including moisture in the air to form an acid.

 Many of the refineries often use low quality crude oil that has high levels of sulfur.

When this is refined it produces higher levels of SO2 pollution.

Accidental fires, explosions, and chemical and gas leaks are common at refineries. Such accidents cause higher than usual amounts of pollution, which may result in more acute exposure to pollutants and greater health impacts.

So, what did the oil companies have to say? Here you go:

Calif. refinery fire to likely raise West Coast gas prices

RICHMOND, Calif. — “Analysts say a fire at one of the country’s biggest oil refineries will contribute to higher prices at the pump on the West Coast.”

“The fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, about 10 miles northeast of San Francisco, broke out Monday evening.”

“It sent plumes of black smoke over the San Francisco Bay area and sent scores of people to hospitals with breathing problems before it was out the following morning.”

“Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at Oil Price Information Service, says Chevron’s refinery is big and important to the market.”

“With inventories of gasoline in the region already low compared with the rest of the country, Kloza says pump prices in California and elsewhere on the West Coast will soon average more than $4 per gallon.”

The hundreds of comments after the article were predictable. Here is a sampling:

“What else is new. There could be a fire at a refinery in the Netherlands and they would use that excuse to bend us over.”

and:

“Wow another excuse to raise gas prices. The problem with gas is the guys on wall street called speculators decide on the price of oil and as we all know they use every excuse in the book to raise the price. such as weather, seasons, production, wars, conflicts in the middle east, government policies, but not supply and demand…”

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 1, 2012 — “I was stunned upon hearing a news report about a protest going on in China. Teachers, parents with their young, school-age children and pro-democracy activitists (one estimate was 90,000 people) marched in Hong Kong to government headquarters last Sunday to publicly protest a new required “Patriotism” class, to be taught in the school system starting in 2015. The protestors think that the effort of the Chinese government here is to brainwash their kids in favor of communism.”

“What stunned me was that this protest, in China, against the government’s upcoming policy, at the government headquarters, would not now be tolerated here in the United States of America.”

“Thanks to almost zero media coverage, few of us know about a law passed this past March, severely limiting our right to protest. The silence may have been due to the lack of controversy in bringing the bill to law: Only three of our federal elected officials voted against the bill’s passage. Yes, Republicans and Democrats agreed on something almost 100%.”

Police raid wrong house, kill family dog and make children sit with its bloody corpse

“Each family member was forced to the floor at gun and rifle point and handcuffed behind their backs,” the complaint says.

“Police shot and killed the family dog and forced the handcuffed children to sit next to the carcass of their dead and bloody pet for more than an hour while police continued to search the families home.”

The police are out of control in this country. Want gun control? Disarm those bastards!

But, nothing will ever be done about it while we remain happily drowning in our quicksand pit.

What can you do? Get THOUSANDS of citizens together to march down to that police station, drag out those responsible for this atrocity against citizens of the United States and publicly whip and humiliate them. They’ll think twice next time.

But hey, only “dirty hippie protesters” would do that. Besides, the quicksand is warm!

A Dangerous Precedent: Tents, Signs and Protesters = Disaster/Terrorism in Syracuse University Disaster Training Exercise

 “On July 30, Syracuse University held a “mock disaster/training drill” on the quad. Prior to the drill, students received an extremely vague email announcing the drill with no information about the nature of it. While the training sounds somewhat innocuous, the scene that unfolded and the implications that it has are deeply troubling for students and in urgent need of analysis and debate.”

“The mock “disaster” situation, organized partly by the SU Department of Public Safety, began with a staged protest. Students carried placards and chanted on the quad under close supervision of the Department of Public Safety and Syracuse Police.”

“In reference to the Occupy Wall Street movement, there were tents erected as part of the staged protest.”

“Next, the fire department set a trash can on fire. At this point, the police enter the protest. In an overt reference to the Occupy Syracuse encampment, the police remove a propane tank from the outside of a tent. (Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner ordered the eviction of Occupy Syracuse by fabricating claims that the occupiers were violating fire codes.)”

Here’s why….

TO PROTECT THE 1% AND THEIR “PUBLIC SAFETY” FROM THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

To protect the 1% from people who have nothing left to lose. To protect the 1% from you and me in the teeming masses.

“We found that some families are losing their grip on the motels and discovering that the homeless shelters are full. Where do they go then? Well, they keep up appearances by day and try to stay out of sight at night — holding on to one another in a hidden America, a place you wouldn’t notice unless you ran into the people that we met in the moments before dawn.”

“It’s life for a lot of folks. The number of kids in poverty in America is pushing toward 25 percent. One out of four. Austin and Ariel usually get cleaned up for school at gas stations. They find its best to go to different ones every day so the managers don’t get sore.”

“Before the bell, they blend in with more than 1,800 other homeless students in the Seminole County schools.”

“At Casselberry School we met 15 kids who’d been living in cars. With their parent’s permission, they told us you don’t get much sleep – with your brothers and sisters in the backseat – but that wasn’t the worst part.”

Marquis Gines: “We were really scared. So, so we would stay up all night sometimes and watch over my mom and keep her safe.”

Being homeless is already a crime in many areas across “The land of the free.” So is protesting. More and more of our freedoms are becoming criminal acts in the eyes of the 1% and their government.

It’s not OUR government anymore. It’s their government. Become informed.

Look around you if you need more proof.

How much more of this shit are we expected to take?

How much longer before we try to free ourselves from the quicksand of the 1%?

Turn off Hannity, Coulter, Blitzer, O’Reilly and the rest of those lying mainstream media cocksuckers.

Become informed and make up your own minds.

Make alliances and stick with them.

Provide safe havens for the enemies of the 1% and help them in their patriotic struggle.

Free yourself from the quicksand of apathy and misinformation and Wield the Sword of Liberty.
