Will fight dragons for what?

In America, whenever you support a cause or a person, it’s said that you are “White Knighting” a particular cause or person. It’s a throwback to the proverbial “knight in shining armor” who gallantly rushes to the rescue of the “damsel in distress” and slays the dragon.

So, what do you do if the “damsel” doesn’t want to be rescued, or is actually hostile to your “rescue” attempts?

What if she doesn’t want the change that would come if she was freed from the clutches of the dragon?

By the same token, what if the dragon has convinced her that he has her best interests in mind and she is now a willing, albeit unwitting accomplice of the dragon?

Then you’re screwed and there is nothing you can do about it.

You pretty much have to consider her already dead. She’s accepted her fate and sees you as interfering with her wishes.

“Wall Street and our Government cares about each and every one of us”

That’s why we are mistaken when we refer to our fellow citizens as “sleeping sheep” and think that somehow they will have a moment of clarity and awaken to the fact they’re being screwed.

They’re not asleep.

They have been convinced by the dragon that everything is A-OK. The dragon is looking out for them.

When you raise your voice in protest and get called a “malcontent dirty hippie” by fellow members of the middle and working class (who you think you’re white-knighting), you should at least try to reason with those people.

But, if they refuse to see the light and refuse to accept education, and prefer to be the damsel staying in the comfortable (for now) lair of the dragon…

We’ve heard it all before and we’ll never convince the “Romans”

They don’t want your help.

Consider them already dead. Living Dead, but dead just the same.

Continue with your protests and activism.

Continue to attempt to educate the “living dead”, but don’t expect the zombies to suddenly see things your way.

It ain’t gonna happen. No way……

Protest for yourselves and your compatriots. Protest for change. Protest for a better world. Protest for an end to greed and corruption in government. Protest for human rights. Protest for those who are too weak or scared to protest for themselves.

But don’t white knight the living dead. And, whatever you do…..

DON’T THINK THAT YOU ARE SOMEHOW MORALLY SUPERIOR TO THEM JUST BECAUSE YOU’VE “SEEN THE LIGHT”

That would put YOU in the same bag with the religious fundamentalists who believe everyone but them and their followers are going to burn in hell for eternity, and so they look down their noses at the “infidels”.

In keeping with the theme of this column and some of the points I made in my last column…..

Let’s face it: Sex sells.

So does blood and gore. Always has, and probably always will.

Is it just a nasty fact of biology? Is it the result of hundreds of years of clever marketing to the masses that many men, whether consciously or subconsciously look upon women as objects rather than as fellow human beings?

And it’s not just that way in the United States. Women are exploited and treated as objects worldwide.

Guys, answer truthfully:

If you tune in to a Mainstream Media news program and see the cute little blonde news anchor dutifully delivering her lines that her masters have told her to deliver, do you think:

“She seems so intelligent. I wonder what it would be like to have a conversation with her?”

“Gee, I wonder what Kate Upton is thinking here? Wouldn’t it be great to spend an hour just talking to her?”

When we see photographs of a supermodel or a pretty actress such as Kate Upton, do you think:

“Wow! I wonder what it would be like to talk to her for an hour and see what she’s thinking?”

Be truthful.

There are plenty of people who will say: “She’s the one putting it out there. She’s the one selling herself so why should I care? She knows damn well what she’s doing and knows damn well that she’ll be more popular and make more money by showing skin. She’s the one selling herself.”

But, is she? Who is the guilty party? The pimp, or the prostitute?

We can’t legislate morality. That is not only wrong, it also has always led to a backlash.

But we can be honest with ourselves. We can be aware of the underlying messages society bombards us with.

“Arise, Sir Pussywhipped and defend me from all I perceive to be evil”

So, what do we do? Protest?

If you’re male and protest in favor of women’s rights, you’re pussywhipped.

If you’re female and protest, you’re either called a bitch, or if someone wants to be particularly nasty, a bulldyke.

In my last column, I posted a picture of the symbol for women with a burning fuse attached and on the social network boards, I posed the question:

“How much longer are women going to take being treated like 2nd class citizens in this country?”

That question prompted quite a few responses. Some in agreement and some in violent disagreement. Most of the responses were from men, but one woman responded:

“Compared to what? The Taliban? I’ll take this over that anytime! It’s so much better now than in the 70′s when we had to put up with sexual harassment and having to prove ourselves capable of doing the same work. I feel I don’t owe anyone the money for their choices, just want to ensure they have choices….”

Calico Blackie says:

To me, that was akin to saying “See, our gas prices are low here compared to some other countries in the world.”

Or:

“Homeless people here are lucky. Imagine if they were homeless in a 3rd world country.”

The way I see it is when we have people trying to legislate morality…

Who hasn’t had thoughts such as these? If we didn’t, none of us would be here. Does that make those people who attempt to legislate morality a bunch of hypocrites?

When we have judges saying if a woman dresses provocatively, she’s asking to be raped…

When we have a civic leader saying the best thing for women to do is to lie back and enjoy it…

When we have Akin running for public office saying women have their own way of preventing rape pregnancy…..

It’s time for us to stop the bullshit BEFORE we end up with Taliban-like fundamentalist laws here.

Either we will fight ignorance and take steps to legislate for raped women based upon reason and facts, or we will be led by ignorance and continue to make bad laws. Or we will fail to make good ones.

When will the courts stop treating raped women like they were the perps instead of the victims? I’m thinking it’s high time women get angry instead of saying “at least we’re not the Taliban.”

THE ANTHEM OF THE LIVING DEAD

I think it’s high time we band together with our compatriots and fight for HUMAN RIGHTS.

But, don’t waste too much time trying to convert the living dead. They’ve become “Muselmann”.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a “Muselmann” was the name applied by fellow inmates to concentration camp prisoners who were in advanced stages of starvation and had lost the will to live.

The prisoners who hadn’t given up knew that there was nothing that could be done for these “Muselmann”. They were beyond help and thought that further resistance was futile. Theirs was a condition of final acceptance.

Were they wrong? Who’s to judge?

And, what made the “news” yesterday?

“The female diner with the favorable backside received a discount amounting to $0.02 at Twisted Root Burger.”

“While the receipt has not officially been confirmed, someone who works at the chain notes that they are allowed to give “fun discounts” to customers.”

You’ve come a long way, baby! But is this in poor taste? Is it exploitation? Is it treating women as objects?

Or, is it all good clean fun and if no-one’s feelings or sensibilities are hurt, who cares?

Once again, we’re faced with a dilemma. If we chastise the restaurant for this, aren’t we being hypocritical ourselves? Do you think she wore those pants hoping that her butt wouldn’t get noticed?

Personally, I think cute butts and women wearing provocative clothing are GREAT! But, that doesn’t mean they’re “asking for it” or that I should think they should be appreciative of this 56-year-old leering at them.

Anyway, who’s to judge?

And, is it YOUR right to criticize someone who fell for, or is falling for a bunch of clever propaganda? That’s why we can’t classify people who don’t “get” our message when we protest, as a bunch of “sleeping sheeple.”

Which dick do you want screwing you in November? Don’t like it? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! PROTEST!!

We can’t White Knight the unwilling or unknowing. We can only try to explain the way it really is to them.

Then, we must concentrate our efforts on the living. We must realize that we’re fighting for our futures.

We must realize that we’re fighting for ourselves and our compatriots.

Don’t White Knight for the living dead.

FIGHT FOR YOURSELF!

The rest will fall into place if we ALL do this.

I really believe that we’re witnessing history.

We’re witnessing the last stand for liberty in the United States and around the world. If during the Conventions and on September 17th we fail to take to the streets in huge numbers, the lamp of freedom will die.

DON’T BE A WITNESS. BE A PARTICIPANT!
