Greetings from Calico Blackie!
I was going through the archives of this site today and was struck with what OWS has accomplished so far and what it will take before the 99% can claim even a partial victory over the 1%.
The 1% has not even given up a shred of its stranglehold on America.
They haven’t made one move to end corruption in government.
Wall Street is as greedy as ever.
In November, we’re going to have another sham election between bought off candidates.
The approval rating of Congress is deeper in the toilet.
We’re more divided than ever with bogus and trumped up issues.
The brainwashed sheep in the ever-shrinking middle class still want to see the Occupy Movement crushed.
And, NDAA and a myriad of other repressive laws have been passed in the past year.
On May 1st, Occupy Wall Street is planning demonstrations and events throughout the world.
I am convinced that this is our very last chance to try to reason with the 1%.
The following was written by John Brown, an abolitionist, on 2nd December, 1859:
“I John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land: will never be purged away; but with Blood. I had as I now think: vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed; it might be done.”
Calico Blackie says:
I now know how he must have felt.
He was writing about slavery. The exploitation of human beings for profit.
A little over a year later, America became embroiled in Civil War.
If we don’t manage to score some victories on May 1st, I will believe, as John Brown did in 1859, that the only way the 1% will make any concessions to us in the name of humanity will be with blood.
The only way to get them to stop exploiting human beings for profit will be to erase them.
I hope I’m wrong.
Please, let’s put aside our differences to “Move Humanity Forward”

Here’s a sample from her page:
“It is time for the American People to take responsibility for allowing the 1% to cause so much pain and suffering in the world. As a population we have never been so diverse and so educated. As a population we have never had as much experience and knowledge about how our actions or inaction reverberates throughout the world. Young people, middle-agers and retirees are all experiencing the discontent a lopsided economic system can conjure up.”
“We are at the precise moment in space and time to recognize the good the bad and the ugly of which our Nation has become.”
Calico Blackie says:
She has a point.
So, what are we going to do about it?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
Keep the faith, Occupiers
